I did a similar test in my commute back and forth to work. I have a 2.5 hour commute to and from my office, 3 days a week. Often I'm in stop and go traffic, and have found that the "smooth driving" technique does wonders for my gas mileage. I got 42 MPG "smooth driving" in my Toyota Echo, as opposed to 35 MPG driving... as you say... "in-between".
They dont fucking look at the links anymore. They've gone lazy. Its like "Hey look! Science -approve-."
Seriously. This guy has a shameless advertisement in a link. This should NOT be allowed. I voted that we have the llama that was responsible for approving this add sacked. And we should NOT sack those responsible for sacking the llama.
Ok, im done with the Monty Python jokes.
Seriously, this needs to stop.
You must be using an old version of Firefox. I'm currently running it with 7 tabs opened and its only using ~20MB of memory. And this instance of Firefox has been open for 4 days, 3 hours, and about 26 minutes.
That would be SO much funnier if this were the right time period, if the article had to do with transparent aluminum, and if you had a scottish accent.
Depends on which theory you believe.
You can't change what happens in one timeline but can cause an alterante timeline to come into existance. Actually, all possible outcomes exist as separate timelines, infinitely splitting off from eachother. Going back in time and "changing" the past, simply changes what timeline "you" experience.
See, now they have a really good reason to get up there and maintain Hubble. I mean seriously, what better reason than to focus hubble on that Einstein ring and get a very upclose view of a distant galaxy
Thats sad, because my Dish Network DVR a) runs a flashable Linux OS and b) can easily be upgraded to support Mpeg4 or any other audio/video standard due to this. And it can do so by simply downloading an update from the satellite.
There is a different between hibernation and a coma or deep sleep. In a deep sleep or coma, your metabolism continues at its normal pace. In hibernation, the metabolism slows down drastically, causing lower energy consumption, lower cell death, and ultimately, slower aging.
Now that we've welcomed them, and even honored their arrival with the invention of a new word, lets celebrate by creating a sentence to go with said word.
The Slashdot Editors have a predilection to exceeding dupliciousness.
A wireless scanner doesnt transmit, it scans. It won't transmit unless it picks up a network to hitch on to. Unless you arent talking about a wireless network scanner, in which case i have no idea what a wireless scanner is.
This is in no way unconstitutional. They are providing a service, and are obviously allowed to limit said service in any way they please. Also, I'm sure that they make you agree to some sort of EULA/TOS/AUP before getting online. They don't want to be responsible for allowing flow of illegal content. Grow up, people.
It seems that a large portion of the popular online games are getting their servers mutilated. is it time for them to switch to a different method of networking? perhaps create their own "internet" to "dial" into?

A bunch of Linux boxes is not a storage solution.

Surely they can just upgrade the software...
Hey, KDE had it first buddy.
I shan't comment on the ludicrity of mentioning Ludacris on slashdot since nobody here has enough of a life to know who he is.
Whoops... i did it anyway.

I second that. You think the editors are being duplicious? Look at yourselves. You're dupliciating yourselves by commenting on their dupliciousness.

ya, but 192.168.1.1 would indicate that the RIAA was spying on her internal network, which would land them a MAJOR privacy suit. :-p
