when i was a confused little boy i bought a "learn javaScript" book as i was too intimidated by books like the 15cm ish thick book on java i have now.
The book on javascript i bought was great, it taught me about the concept of loops and arrays and things i found difficult to grasp at first. i coded made a crappy little web based encoder program that i was convinced NO ONE but the FBI could break! (u know the one)

even though this sounds stupid i learnt alot and gained the courage and understanding to try better, more powerful languages.
Its a good starting point if your maths just aint that good yet.

Except back then it took about 20 minutes to load on most peoples dialups.

read the book buy from amazon Its a good read, even if it was from ages ago. you'll wonder how they thought they could implement all they wanted, it was about 3 or 4 years ahead of its time.

Alot depends on how secure m$ "secure computing" model is. If they do what theyre bragging about and allow pages of memory to go unchecked even by the OS itself i think u have the beginnings of the recipe for a super virus.

The next version of windows and how they move to get it mainstream (new standards, no forward compatibility for older windows, whatever) will be a big factor in how the desktop 'game' plays out...

Linux is developing for desktop with Lindows OS , its M$ turn, we need to wait for their move.

  13. Statistics can prove anything... on P2P File Swapping on the Rise Again? · · Score: 4, Insightful

You should never rely on statistics if you cant see the evidence. For all we know they could count this on how many people download off a server they set up. They could even run kazaa and look at the blurb in the status bar at how many users are online and how much theyre sharing and monitor it over time. With no way to know dont take this too seriously, and its rediculous that big companies will use trashy figures to promote their products. it just doesnt seem to matter these days companies dont care as long as they can dupe their customers into buying their product. Bottom line, dont even trust a %.

70 % of people i spoke to agree to this post with 100% of them being imagined.
