    "Improve" has that "value-added we can tax it" implication. Let's not give the government ideas. I prefer a more modest definition which frameworks actively using the domain name for legal, mundane activities. How we define pump-n-dump domain name marketing as illegal is the hard part.

    All those software vendors who charge $outrageous/user to use yet another LDAP Directory bridge -- which no one in his right mind purchases so users have yet another password to memorize -- are yet another element in poor security. Despite all the posturing about the great security of their systems.

    Yes, the government is already restricting which days a person can water their lawn. Only, when the government implemented those restrictions, people used more water not less. Seems people already know how to use their water in the most efficient manner.

    It's something the college kids are doing to whack out the Dells. College students will try anything on a laptop. College kids will also ignore the 3 yr warranty their parents bought with the laptop so the laptop is trashed quickly and they can ask their parents to buy a new laptop.

    This guy is just looking for funding for his pet project so he can avoid real work. Read the statement closely:

    "...I don't ... want to discuss this in a public forum...I...want...to tailor my proposals to the Department of Energy in a way that makes them more palatable."

    Just another harebrained idea chasing government money.

    And the carbon math is best appreciated by an auditor from Arthur Anderson: creating CO2 to harvest CO2 for a "net gain"?

    I suggest you might want your job posting to focus on the flexibility offered by a small company. You could likely attract some serious talent who is tired of the large corporate lifestyle; and willing to take lower pay for a more flexible employer.

    Most of the mess which is health care reimbursements is based on Medicare/Medicaid schedules -- what is allowed and what is not. And the regulations which in reality force my insurance to cover only what Medicare thinks is important. Excuse me, I am not an old person or a welfare recipient. My health care requirements are quite different.

    Health care problems don't require funding, they require the political courage to fix regulations.

    Tapped is a mechanical term relating to the creation of screw threads in a [solid] material. In order to be properly tapped, material must be removed to create a cavity, the hole gets chamfered to provide a proper thread lead-in, and the threads created by forming or cutting.

    So David Kappos has been properly drilled, edged, and rolled with precision.
