Another new feature of the MSN beta that the article fails to mention is it's un-godly amount of bloat.
Seriously, does anyone really need the Nudge function? To all those of you who don't use MSN (whom I hold the deepest respect for, btw), all Nudge does is shake your window and the recipients window in some weird kind of internet seizure.
But now, Kittridge finds himself an unwitting accomplice in a recent email scam that attempted to separate customers of US Bancorp from their account information.
Unwitting Accomplice, eh? Well, I'm pretty sure that when you write a program designed solely for spamming, you're smart enough to realize that a huge part of spamming nowadays is phishing. But he did have a good enough reason,

Yeah... okay...

It could be much much worse, ie, filled with 1337-speak.
City of Heroes is really fun, but it's nothing special. It's just an MMO.
I played it for a while, a few months back; and once the initial thrill of being a superhero (ie- I get to use fire beams!) wears off (ie- Why am I in tights?), it's just a boring MMO. If you can prove that treadmilling is some how better when you're a superhero, feel free to enlighten me.
The DS actually seems to be pretty reasonably priced, and the line-up of games that it's getting released with looks great.
The one thing that could've plagued the DS would've been gadgetry, that is, really expensive stuff that only people with money to waste would buy. And at these prices, it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
I'd have to say that Bungie has amazing control over what they put out, and that they do a good job of maintaining the plot they set out with. But you do have to hand it to the guys, they sure put a whole lot of extra work into it, that's almost unnecessary. Cortana Letter's, anyone?
Mandrake is definitely good for a beginning user, however I've found that there's certain issues when installing on a laptop.
In my experience, Mandrake's auto-detection isn't up to snuff when it's getting installed on a laptop, and that can raise some issues (no sound support, X displaying oddly, etc.).
But, if you know your exact hardware during install, then you shouldn't have a problem.
Wait? Dead?
Hmm... let's go through a very short list. Half-Life 2, City Of Heroes and World Of Warcraft.
Doesn't seem dead to me.
It happens for any story if you click on it right away. Just one of slashdot's little bugs.
Anyway, if you give the story a few seconds before trying again, it should be there.
"The US kids rated 28th of 40 (so in the bottom third)"
It's helpful that they said "bottom third". Otherwise, we might've mistaken them for being in the top 10.

Looks like I'm going to migrate back to IRC.
Space has a terrible power. We are here to protect you from the terrible secret of space. Do you have stairs in your house?
Pak chooie unf.
I agree. This is absolutely disgusting.
Does the first amendment even apply anymore? I can't tell.
I agree with you on this one.
I'd use this tool in a minute if I wasn't using IRC, firefox, thunderbird and StarOffice on OS X.
Open source community, I hear a cry for a new project.

Isn't this the equivalent of what any spyware would do to someone's computer? How does this kind of advertisement differ at all?

In Canada, all of our Dew comes in the non-caffeinated variety. Ughh, disgustingly sweet stuff.

If you read NuklearPower, then you'll like the flash version they did of it. http://www.cybermoonstudios.com/8bitDandD.html
