Not only did I not know, I didn't understand that that was what CmdrTaco meant. I thought that "return link to the website of your choosing" meant the link to the story.
Given that one can set a homepage link from the profile, making the username link to the profile wouldn't have much effect on the ability of those who really want to to see the page of the submitter's choice, and would be a UI improvement from the point of the Principle of Least Surprise.
At some point, someone had to decide to exclude many of the dead sea scrolls.
The Dead Sea Scrolls are from a non-Christian Jewish community. The works which are unique to them are of some interest to Christians in providing some insight into the background of first century Palestine, but they have no claim whatsoever to be in the New Testament.

One I've used which isn't in the list is stochastic rounding for all values (rather than just n+0.5) such that n+f (0 = f 1) rounds to n with probability (1-f) and (n+1) with probability f.
It's not even that. Consider "SquirrelMail Variable Handling":
SquirrelMail 1.4.4 and earlier does not properly handle the $_POST variable, which allows remote attackers to modify or read the preferences of other users.
Listed under Unix / Linux, but since SquirrelMail is PHP it seems from the description to be just as much of a problem if your webserver is Windows / IIS. And, indeed, four updates for that very vulnerability are filed under Multiple Operating Systems instead.

The Heisenberg uncertainty principle is more complicated than that. The product of the uncertainty in position and velocity has a positive lower bound.
For a large prime P the odds are pretty good* that there's an prime Q such that sqrt(P) < Q < P. That's equivalent to Q < P < Q^2, so P base Q has 2 digits.

kdebase does contain some absolute junk, though. I strongly dispute the claim that kdepasswd (or ktips) is necessary for "a fully functional KDE desktop".
When he was an MP Richard Allan impressed me by being apparently the only person in the House of Commons who understood computers and issues relating to them. It's a pity he's retired from the House.
A rate requires a numerator and a denominator. You've given the numerator: (number of) car stereo thefts. What's the denominator? Population? Number of cars? Number of car stereos?
On the Web? Well, TBH they probably did admit to that, but it's a shame the journalist doesn't know his or her subject matter. (Having RTFA, they were actually putting the files on Kazaa and other P2P networks).
This being the UK we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that 90% of them raised said two grand by taking out a loan on which they'll be paying at least 10% interest p.a.

Maybe not where you live, but that's not universally true.

No, 2^x-1 has O(x) digits.

What do you mean by "calculating"? Converting to base 10? You can convert to base 16 in O(x) time.

It would be nice if the article gave a few details about the sport - just basic stuff like the number of balls or players involved.

Surely all the winners would be politicians?
