I loved Big Rig, I think this is the game that got me into computers... The a couple years later I saw KQ1-CGA version. I though I died and went to computer game heaven... Wow this makes me feel old...

According to the bi-partisan 9/11 commission, Iraq neither had WMDs nor programs to build them.

I had one of those IBM All-in-one PC's It had a 17" LCD with Mobo,HD.. Built into the main case.. After about 8 of the capa-asiters leaked I called IBM, I was about 3 months outta warranty, and even though they knew it was Manufacturer defect, they wanted to charged me $350.00 to ship me a new Mobo.. For a P2-400 !!?? I now, buy all my pc's from DELL, at least they don't try to stick it in ya. I don't mind Companies having problems with their equipment, thats part of life. Owning up and fixing the problem is what I consider superior.
The shuttle lift off weight is 4,520,235 lbs. thats 2260 tons... WTF is a 20 ton object going to do? do Normal communication satalites fall outa orbet because the come close to the shuttle?? I don't understand...
Is that still around? How? Who actally pays for this stuff? I never understood installing a secondary network client on a OS that nativly supports networks, is there some purpose I'm missing? I mean other than devoted Novell IT Departments wasting company money to keep themselves employeed?... I guess I'll never understand... Banyan I understood... It was actually designed to do something other than the samething the native network OS did.

I see a lot of people criticizing Microsoft for anything from security problem to price of licensing. Most people claiming that Linux of whatever breed is the best! and oh my If you don't use it then you must be a fool! Answer this question, If Linux is free, which it is, it seems that is almost cant be given away! Why does this free software that is so much better and easier to use have such a small market share? Explain!? I use Windows and Linux, and have been for many years. As an administrator I use Linux for some things and windows for other. My guess is USERS find windows more useful, while administrator find Linux more useful.
Floppies are still usefull for loading computers either by copying the CD source to the HD first or for Imaging a HD. What About HD Diagnostics? Do you really want to have to create a bootable CD everytime you want to do this? I think floppies are still easier to use for alot tech and loading issues, just because you can't use them as a long term data storage anymore, doesn't mean they are dead, there usage has just change from a mainly user role to more of an admin/tech role.
I have a CP1700 it has seperate print heads and ink cartridges. If the Heads were actually built-in and non-removeable, I would have had to throw it away along time ago. With the cost of replacing both parts, it's even more of a hassle. HP just like the other printer manufactures are just trying to jade the public by putting a shinny new star shaped sticker that says "NEW" on an old overpriced technology. They might as well put an "AS Seen on TV" sticker on it too! It's just another way to seperate you from your money.....
I refuse to buy anything from Best Buy. I went into a store in Florida with about $800 in my pocket. $cash$. I was buying a stereo and equipment for my truck. They refused to sell me anything unless I provided them with my home address and telephone number,, I left all the stuff @ the counter,and walked out. About 10 minutes later I went back in to speak to the store manager. He told me it was his right to refuse me, for any reason. I told him to F8%k off. I got home and called there 800 number and spoke to someone in there policy dept. BTW the person answering the phone there assures me that they have a law degree.:) right! They basically told me the same thing, that they could refuse me for any reason. I've will NEVER give them, or any BEST BUY another dime.
You, like many others before you, will come to realize that unless you have old money or win the lottery, will live a dismal existence, working for pennies and totally unappreciated. Finding a good paying job these days is near to impossible. Expect to spend about 1.5 weeks working for rent. Another third of the week to line Uncle Sams pockets, another 1/3 if you want decent health care. And the rest on a disallusioned woman, thats trapped in fairy tale land, thinking you owe her , and that you should take care of her. I would say just get a job at Micky D's , grab a few 40oz and some ### . Live a happy stress free life , instead of a hair pulling, stressed , gut wrenching one.
I couldn't have said this better. As Long as your ready to be Under-appreciated in both paycheck and Status do anything else but IT. Unless your a StarTREK geek, territoral person, who can live in your own IT bubble of Self-Appreciation and monitary dis-illusionment.
UNLESS you Indian and want to go back to India, Don't believe those stupid radio adds you hear about saying that the industry is looking for more IT. IT ISN'T. Companies don't want to pay for IT people, and most will treat you like a black sheep. I wish I had other skills, but I don't and I'm stuck, I will eventually have to go back to college and pay for a second career.
I worked at a bank where, like most companies, the computer people are worse than red-headed step children. We worked in a room under the parking garage, we shared 1 computer between about 15 people to enter the resolution of trouble tickets. The table in our lab would seat about 10, yet only had 5 chairs. The walls and ceiling where completly unfinished, so all you got to see was the wonderfull brick structure. Right out side the emergency exit was Two V-12 train engines that ran the backup generators. There were no windows, and of course be under the parking garage, about every 10 seconds, you heard that wonderfull little bounce that cars and trucks make going overhead. I quit after about 2 weeks. Oh yeah, I probably shouldn't meation the banks name but the Initials were FU. They have since been bought out.

US-LEC now supports a Dynamtic T with caller ID. It's actually an autoscaling data/voice channel PRI.. I use Them.
