If you watched that show on the Discovery channel I believe it was the episode of 'Mammals vs Dinosaurs'. They showed how vegetation played a big role in the mammals survival and how dinosaurs when young were not able to hide in the vegetation from larger creatures because the mammals were the dominate species in that level of vegetation. Something along the lines of that....
So the mammals killed off the dinosaurs at a young age.
but why? all the good movies are on Blu-Ray and they have some of the best blockbuster movies under them.
I remember some guy told me last time was that because all the classics are gonna be on HD-DVD; but unfortunately the market is where the blockbusters are. I would choose Terminator movies over anything and now I am wondering about Lord of the Rings but last I heard was it was only for Blue-Ray which I will rejoice.
Atleast with the compatibility update recently they have added a long list of applications that now seem to be working a lot better. Here is the list of applications, games and compatiblity fixes; there is many more of these big list to come and have fixed several issues I had with older software. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932246
Unfortunately AOL9.0 is on that list and I wished they just left it in the handicapp section
Also why would you guys get the premium version of Vista if you work at an office, last I check the premium version only added Windows Media Center and the DVD authoring tools unless you are a media company; unless they don't give you the choice of the Vista Business version or Home.
To each their own I guess. I recently knew about 20 students/buddies who got fresh new laptops to show up in class and they all continue to doodle away like they did on XP and still turn in all their papers with Vista working perfectly for them like XP. Laptops are selling like hotcakes around here in Southern California and the nation, even my local Fry's has not really had massive returns of Vista laptops from talking to the workers there and they have one of the easiest return policies ever.
No but when you get called out by the locals to come check out an execution in a house of a family as soon as you walk up to the door step you know the smell of flesh/brains and say to yourself "alright this bullshit again"
Oh yah you can actually smell other things inside New Jersey besides itself, thats amazing. *baddum ching*
Don't worry you will not need to see the blod as you can recognize the smell of rotting flesh or the smell of your wounded prey from a mile away after being in war for awhile. It cannot hurt to improve the technology though.
You shoulda been there for the beta testing and feedback.
Their whole AV department must be made up of all people from India; no offense but the feedback on what should be added to the program was poorly integrated into the program and it has little to no options for customizing things you would have in other products.
The whole beta was a joke and I am glad I stuck with BitDefender suite as they had a working stable product which would actually detect and was constantly updated.
Half assed presentation and emails sent out about their product which don't make you enthusiastic for it at all; than the $9.00 a year for 3 liscense offer which ofcourse I did not take. So many better free or cheaper working options for security; which I was afraid because of some fear mongering around here about how MS was gonna shut out 3rd party AV/FW because of closed systems. So far everything works on Vista like it did with XP minus the Windows Defender and OneCare.
Funny when we go out riding in the desert on ATV's the federalis showed up with their AK-47 and Desert Eagles; sure enough they let us fire them into the dunes.
Rosarita is a pretty safe area to go to and Tijuana is cool as long as you have friends with you, especially for the woman that is a must to stick together and not get singled out. Tijuana is a lot better now that the Army has moved in on the area; although they took all of the Tijuana polices guns and they carry around sling shots now as a joke sort of until the investigation is over by the Feds. I have heard some horror stories of girls from San Diego University getting things dropped into their drink and some 300 pound Mexican named Guapo takes her up into his shack up on the hill with her waking up not knowing where the hell she is. Just don't get too drunk that you are getting in an argument with a cop or get into a shoving match with a bouncer.
I don't see how that affects it out here in Southern California when the light stays out longer in the afternoon, therefore you don't have to turn on your headlights as early before you did.
Didn't really see anything about it affecting local gas prices in the news and I know our local news would be all over gas prices, especially in the car capital.
That is most hilarious thing that gets me around here about DRM/WGA; is that us power users are usually the ones affected by it since we usually have a pirated copy. I had a machine that had a pirated copy of XP and everytime I wanted the updates right away; sure enough WGA would show its face and I would have to find the latest tool to avoid it.
Yet I have a legitimate copy on another machine and in those 4 years since I have had it running I have yet to run into a problem with WGA and can access all the WGA areas on the MS site; unlike on my other machine where I accidently installed it and had to boot into DOS to move some files around by command.
It's just funny sometimes listening to a minority group claim that it affects a majority of them when all they do is surround themselves with those power users so they think thats how the real world is.
AC'97 seems to work for me but when I try my SB Live 24bit card it does not let me use my mic to talk in games and communicate with my grunts at the office; plus I use my mic to work around in Vista to navigate around when my hands are busy. The default drivers that came with Vista seemed to work fine for other machines I built.
Running Vista on 5 of my home/media computers all with ATI cards of AIW9800 Pro, X800 GTO, Riva TNT2(yah it still runs Vista, crazy huh)and a 9700 Pro; ATI is doing very well on drivers since RC2 you are just lucky you don't have an Nvidia.
I have about a dozen friends who all recently seemed to get new laptops with Vista on it for the universities they go to and they all seem to be running fine; the only problem was with the WIFI which had to do with the WEP enabling and I see this problem with almost all of them; not like I expected them to understand WIFI anyways. I personally like fixing all the college girls internet connection around the complex here as it gets me free WIFI access to their connection and can get a couple extra goodies if the girls is good looking.
Isn't Cartoon Network that terrorist cell that was just busted up for planting those 'Light Brights' all around the nation and causing all those civilian casualties.
Excuse my ignorance but didn't it have to do with Trojans latching on to the key '$' sign or something to make the program run in stealth mode without being detected?
They have the Vista Home Premium version available for $120 or $100 with some other FAR(Free After Rebate) computer case, powers supply and some other toys with it at CC, CompUSA, FRY's. I am gonna get my money's use out of this system unlike last time where I had to buy XP a little late after pirating it for so long and wanting to get my updates seamlessly without the annoying(?) WGA bugging me about my illegal copy.
Vista is very stable and has run flawlessly on my AMD 2.4 w/ X800GTO 256 and 2 GB ram; I am a gamer and notice every hiccup and FPS that goes wrong. I can tell you that there is no performance hit while doing other activities and using it fine like I did with XP but a little more organized in some areas.
The premium is the one to get as it includes the Windows Media Center and I know I will have a use for that in the future; also all the other little gimmicks which the novelty will wear off on some but for others might find useful such as the speech recognition.
Agreed for us power users it is a must to see what is going on during defragging and having a solid bar that doesn't even give you a time estimate of when it will be finished or how sloppy your partition is right now is not very welcoming. I hear that it auto-defrags by itself while running the system but with the amount of file swapping I have going my network home here it does get scattered. Maybe a third party will step up with a nice program or get smart to add something for more detail.
Just to backup the guys claim about CPU usage here is another screenshot. In fact it runs better than my XP machine and networking now works a lot more seamlessly when transferring stuff. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n24/spongaweb/c puusage.jpg
All my media plays fine and I don't know what is with all this fear mongering with all of a sudden I will not be able to play my music, movies, sound or edit a video.
I am running Vista right now and still can use my Media Player Classic, WMP, VLC, Nero and I can still copy my DVD/CD like I did in XP with the right updated software. In fact I use WMP to burn all my MP3's very simply and can still burn my DIVX movies with WMP also to watch and it adds all the chapters for me.
All this shouting about restrictions but I think most everybody is getting worked up over nothing except a.WMV file that has to check online to view it. Only thing that I have come across that brings up so called *DRM* is when viewing a porn clip and I just simply click no instead of yes to allow it to register with the porn site to view.
There is an on going beta testing of Office 2007 that I get every few weeks in the MS newsletter. Usually there is sometimes a new build every month or so for download; all those beta testing also have a chance to get a free copy for submitting bug or other reason.
Is the new kid on the block and usually get all the articles even before subscribers; in fact there are probably/. subscribers who submit articles to Digg. Notice I have run into a few articles I read on Digg a day before/. got them and they were Slashdotted/digged.
We used to say it was "slashdotted"; but now we say it has been "Digged"

Vista(Pro)?
You mean Vista Premium

Alright you have a Ferarri but are stuck in a neighborhood with a limit of 25 MPH

Play some Wu-Tang and one of their songs is just a straight drive by shooting.
Ultima Online used to let you get rezd(ressurrected) and get back all the stuff on your body.

ATI has some offical stable drivers out.
some might be holding out on buying a 360 and this might make their decision a little better in the future.
It gives them hope...
I thought they could just rub their finer on the outside of their nose(oils) and stop the foam of the beer/soda from over flowing.
Although I would hate to have to be the guy who sticks his finer in that hole.

Wow that actually says a lot about Linux in that people would rather go out of their way to download Vista illegaly than take a FREE OS.
