The difference is chances are there is no "you" to begin with. I'll be lucky to see a half-dozen people on a ride at all. I'll see hundreds of cars. Numbers-wise it really does make more sense to run the risk this way.
Also consider -- if I hit you, due to the similar mass we are both gonna get injured. So I'm gonna me looking out for you as much as you're looking for me. A automobile driver isn't going to get hurt if he hits a bike, so they have less incentive to be careful. If a car hits me on the road, if it doesn't actually drive over me it will still likely knock me off my bike and onto the street, where one of the many other cars might accidentally roll over me. Adding to the danger for me.
Always ride like absolutely NO ONE can see you...like you are invisible.
If you can. I ride on the sidewalk -- but supposedly that's illegal in my area (because they think I'll hit a pedestrian). My thinking is -- there's a hell of a lot more cars on the street than people who actually walk from place to place, so the chances of me hitting a pedestrian are much lower than a car hitting me. Plus, then it's my riding abilities that guarantee safety. Not hoping that strangers driving cars are looking out for me.
At this point, Apple's auto project is still officially rumor and the idea of it being self-driving, and using LIDAR technology, has not been confirmed either.
I realize im raving about the roku on this thread, just a happy customer, nothing more
I wouldn't really call it a "Roku Rave" since you can replace the name of the device with any number of other devices just as easily. It could a happy Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, or even smart Blu-Ray player owner. The best part being you can replace from malfunction, upgrade, or change the "smarts" down the line without throwing out what might be a perfectly fine HD screen in the process. Or position the device someplace were it can get better network connectivity compared to where your HDTV screen need to be tilted. With radio/bluetooth remotes on some devices there no reason it has to be right there under/beside the screen.
The article traces through episodes at each phase of the franchise, exploring literary allusions and lamenting that "Star Trek's latest iterations — the 'reboot' films directed by J.J. Abrams — shrug at the franchise's former philosophical depth."
Because at that point it stopped trying to be real science fiction. It was just another franchise to be used for monetary gain by the rights-holders. So, out with any social commentary, no deep thinking -- this is Summer! It's time for an action flick -- in SPAAAAAAAACE!
Firefox isn't one of those volunteer-staffed community projects. It has a large non-profit with paid developers backing it. Given all the people that use Firefox on a day-to-day basis to carry out sensitive health and financial-related tasks online, is it wrong to think Mozilla should hire a security-focused developer into the fold?
Gee Mozilla. Better get to work fixing those 185 vulnerabilities now, instead of sitting on them while you work on copying Chrome's look and feel or think of new unrelated tech ventures to get involved in.
Or you could only pay for cosmetic improvement to your vehicle but never any safety improvement. That would be the best game of all because people would rate you highly and it would save you money.
Not sure how much repair work you've had to do on your own vehicles, but "cosmetic" (body) work is a hell of a lot more expensive than mechanical work.
Not officially, but I installed this build just last night.
I still consider the Linux build to be a work in progress, too since it's still not as easy to install as Firefox (as in -- it's just there as a package in the repositories).
In 2-3 years Firefox will be nothing more than another shitty Chrome clone. I can only hope this absurd move leads to a serious fork of the browser that focuses on getting back to the original goals of Firefox.
That already exists in Pale Moon. It avoids the Australis interface that is just a clone of Chome's toolbar style, doesn't have the new start tile page with the "suggested" additions, or Pocket, or the earlier "social" additions.
What it needs is more developers and a plan on how to move forward and improve the browser until it stops being a tweaked third-party Firefox.
They're paying for Mr Anonymous on the Internetz to not proactively try and contact their less-internet-savvy spouse. The information can't be removed -- which also means the target cheater could potentially be hit up with this racket over and over again by every person doing it.
The only way to really prevent being bilked for 1 BTC x Everyone is simply to confess the affair to begin with to the spouse.
"Our hypothesis is that when you open a Private Browsing window in Firefox you're sending a signal that you want more control over your privacy than current private browsing experiences actually provide."
I'd say people want more control over their privacy even when they aren't going full-tilt in Private Browser Mode. You know what a contributing factor is in loss of privacy? A browser that has web services and features built-in that rely on third-party companies.
If this is an advertisement it fails pretty hard. "Still being built" sure doesn't instill me with the notion this operating system is ready for me to use yet. Think I'll just keep using what I have for another six months or so at least.
Well shut my mouth wide open. Apparently I have a modifier on my displays. When I'm logged in AC's appear as -1. But if I log out their comments are scored 0.
Still, the point still stands, the use of AC in posting had a detrimental effect on the original post being recognized in a positive light in moderation.
How so AC? Uber's business as they created it uses contracted drivers. You think they're just doing something different in Saudi Arabia for shits and grins? There's obviously something in that market that is making them alter their operations.

Enjoy Firefox while it lasts. Firefox is moving to the Chrome extension model in less than a year, killing off AdBlock Plus and NoScript and the like.
Then you just use Pale Moon -- which has a fork of Adblock Plus called Adblock Latitude available for it.

Dammit. I typed "effected" instead of "affected" when I quoted a line from the summary. -__-'

The linked New York Times article mentions that it will need an internet connection.
You know, I heard the Amazon Fire TV devices, Roku, and Chromecast also list an Internet connection as a requirement. I wonder why...

NO, do NOT use a VPN. All VPNs are subject to court order to tap and trace your ass.
That's not a law in every country in the world.

They only like to think they are indispensable.
Frankly, only the layer directly above the employees and the layer at the top are really needed.

... who can comment on the relative quality of the two sets?
Are you talking about the two sets of browser extensions, or the two sets of comments that come from us having this dupe article?
