6 mbps? Try 448/96 kbps because of living too far from the DSLAM and the ISP not caring. Refreshing a Slashdot page is not done without asking the rest of the household if they're doing anything latency-sensitive.
I think people are more upset at the perceived risk of getting a barcode tattoo reminiscent of what they used in concentration camps (yeah, I Godwin'ed the thread),
So you basically admit that people are "upset" about an imaginary threat that doesn't currently exist, and is unlikely to ever exist?
I admit nothing. I said 'the perceived risk', I don't take a stance on whether it is likely to happen. The fact is it has a detrimental effect on people's desire to visit the country in the first place.
Back then it was common that a plane hijacking meant an unexpected side trip to some third world country, some hours in an airport, and a trip back home. That ALSO changed on 9/11 and is considered the main reason that the last plane crashed because the passengers heard what happened to the first ones and took up the fight.
For a lot of things, especially where you need to be able to search for something, text is far superior. For stuff like this, I would really hope they maintain text as the main focus, with videos to show proof-of-concept for lack of a better term. Details are much easier seen than imagined, after all.

Such things really does count against visiting the US compared to taking a week on a beach somewhere else.
In today's world, does anyone have ANY of their friends or acquaintances whom they have never, EVER, contacted over a computer of some sort? I seriously doubt it.
It might not accept any 'serious' changes over a Wi-Fi connection, but only through the Ethernet port. I'm sure you know the old truth - physical access is ALWAYS root.
People that fight for freedom have a tendency to die young, and depending on the circumstances, having their families killed in retaliation by the powers that be.
The cowards that don't fight for freedom live longer and keep their families safer, thus their genes are more likely to survive.
How about a guy that never pays his child support but parks outside a strip joint five nights a week? Don't you want the ability to arrest him and show the courts where his money is spent?
Why do you want their bartender fired? Five times a week sounds like he works there.
Same here. Problem is that selling a house with this kind of pre-2000 net connection is not going to be easy.
It's nice living where there's proper broadband available, isn't it?
Because when I bought the house I was promised there would be fiber in the ground by the end of 2012. Yeah, that didn't happen. :-/

Updates is one thing; you could install it on a machine never connected to the internet and play it straight out of the box, bugs be damned.
This is different. Your time is 100% wasted going to a brick and mortar store to buy an online installer.

Actually I wrote that to pre-empt anyone who wanted to call me out on it.
In my opinion SOME references to Nazis are pretty far out there. Others, like wanting to put barcodes on 'undesirable' people, aren't.

You just did. Just sayin'.
The end of your post combined with your signature is comedy gold, mate.
It is okay for people to defend their country and culture by lobbying for stricter immigration laws and the like.
It is NOT okay for them to burn down buildings that may contain living people just because they don't LIKE those people.
Has it been more than 30 years since 1989 already?
At least Microsoft produces stuff based on (a portion of) their patents.
A patent troll owns a patent, produces nothing, and stifles production from other companies in hopes of getting money that way.
It will basically be Sword Art Online all over again.

If I took 300 million in bribes I would retire for the rest of my life, not stay in the public eye.
That's called being a teenager.
But ... it didn't succeed. The end result was 'No winner' rather than one of the writers supported by the 'conspiracy' winning.
He died? Hey, it's a fair guess in that series!
Awesome, so any one of those three can sell all the data?
Not necessarily.

I would argue against that.
