    Depends on your point of view The next release of the Notes client is based on the Eclipse framework and mulitplatform from the get-go. This too me is a lot more open than other offerings. It also includes ODF word-processor and spreadsheet. The Sametime chat client is bascially running Jabber, which is an open format. plugis are available for Gaim to coinnect Domino is not open, but there you go. They are making moves, and those moves appear to be a long term strategy rather than a short term publicity grab. But this is just my view. What do I know

    As I have no mod points at the moment, I will post a hearty agreement. Over population is a huge factor in global warming and various other global concerns;shortage of food, rapid spread of disease, etc. Problem is, who decides who lives and who dies? Global Lottery anyone?

    Never used this but I have used some of there other products which seem pretty good. http://www.2x.com/applicationserver/citrix.htm/ Price seem pretty good too.

    But the new layout does not render correctly on Konqueror. I also had problems with it freezing the Opera 9 beta on my Windows box at work. Are these teething problems that will be sorted or will I be forced to use firefox? A feedback mechanism to report these problems would be cool. Sorry for the off-topic post. feel free to mod me down, but give it a while so this post is seen. Cheers

    I get the weight saving, but surely a standard screen is just as cheap, if not cheaper and would have the benefit of colour. I have never heard anyone complain about the weight of their PDA, Mobile or digital watch

    I am still waiting for something exicting to happen here. When the sale went through I thought that Lenovo would try to break away from the wintel model and do something cool with PPC and linux. The wait continues.

    I tried Opera a couple of years ago and liked it but the ads put me off, I have been using firefox at work instaed of IE but at home use konqueror, Im not a huge fan of firefox but its better than IE.
