Private companies will almost always pursue goals that will make them money in the long run. Corporate moguls are now catching on to the fact there's a lot of rich people out there willing to spend $250K for a quick flutter into orbit.
Space programmes with ulterior motives than profit will likely always have to be finianced by the people, through governments.
Thankfully Wikipedia wasn't predominantly written by prejudiced Westerners. Don't rely on it for anything that might have a slight political connotation.
I assume dvorak is optimally layed out for the english language?
If regularly typing in other languages where other letters are more prominent (see Scrabble), I suppose having either dvorak or qwerty wouldn't make any difference.
I live in Belgium and I have had an identity card since the age of 12. You are obliged to carry it at all times. Not a single person has ever made a fuss about it, and I don't see what all the fuss is about in the UK at the moment.
Last night I was watching a programme on the BBC where a young man was giving false id information to the police - that kind of business could easily be halted by just presenting an id card.
Here in the Belgian Kinepolis cinema's they are only showing the digital version (i saw the midnight screening on tuesday). Kinepolis really is a treat - you pay 8 euros instead of 7 euros for the digital cinema, but the sound and visual quality is so much better. I thought Lucas was pushing for a digital-only episode III?
What size is a digital movie anyway? I read somewhere that uncompressed it was about 1.5g/s, compressed a 2-hour movie would amount to about 100g. What media are these distributed on?

I'm happy if i manage to read a 400-page book in 1-2 months.
i wish i had mod points left..

Agreed, but since I regularly type English, Dutch and French (living in Belgium), there is probably no use in switching?

No, 'cause your average terrorist is not terribly bright.
Underestimating an enemy is guaranteed downfall.
now hopefully the next time round they will get their head out of their arse and draught a bill that will be fair for generations to come..
"Contact your local FBI department."
