    I have an idea for you:

    A neighborhood LAN, which will grow and interconnect to other LANs to form a MAN, which will further interconnect to form a country wide WAN. The growth of this could be amazing. Internet conenction sharing, neighborhood routing, etc.

    The internet of the future comes 300ft at a time.

    Looks cool, but i can't wait to try it out. Todays VR gets you disoriented because your mind sees movement but knows that your body isn't moving. This at least lets your body move, even if you're not actually traveling...

    For all of you complaining about the lack of good sci-fi, pick up an OLD sci-fi book. Get out of your corporate book store and support the local used book store. Some of the best sci fi was written before NASA was even concived. (Some of the worst was too) Give it a try

    joysticks are still only 2d, unless you pick them up. i was thinking more like a vr headset (smaller than todays tech) and an "interface glove" or the like. move your hand in 3d, tap something to open it. punch it to delete. heh now i'm just dreaming!

    The interface in Minority Report would be cool...

    the biggest problem with a 3D interface is the interface. It's not coincidence that we have a 2d pointing device for a 2d interface. when we design an easy to use 3d pointing device, widespread adoption of the interface will come shortly behind.

    Who would want to use them? Sure, we would, but we're by and large geeks. the 'normal' users can't handle anything that doesn't have pictures to keep them focused.
