They took that server down and replaced it with a "realm status" board.
And they only post there 10-15 minutes after the server has gone down.
How about the 5 minute warning before a server reboot? I spent the 5 minutes of warning running to an inn so that when the server came back up I'd be in a safe place.
When the server went back up, I logged in to find that my character had been rolled back 15+ minutes. A quest I had finished was waiting to be started and I didn't have any of the quest specific items.
I contacted a GM about it and they basicly said "Tough Titty"
They know how to "service" their customers, alright.
I participated in beta and I got sick of spending all my time taking damage in fights. Probably 100% of the fights I was in damaged me. It's the primary reason I didn't bother buying the game.
You know you have a problem with people start using invincible hacks to save themselves from getting damaged. But instead of fixing the problem, Blizzard banned anybody who cheated. Good job listening to your customers, Blizzard.
Don't forget the Adelphia family. The father and sons who stole Over One Billion Dollars from their company.
If the fines are in the 250,000 region, what's that teaching these people?
Steal a shitload, ruin people's lives, and we'll take a small amount of your money as punishment and give you 6mo in a minimum security federal resort.
Why not take all their ill-gotten gains and lock them away for how long it would take the lowest earner in their company to make the kind of scratch that they had stolen?
They = ?
Blizzard uses BitTorrent (POORLY) to distribute WoW patches.
BitTorrent is NOT the right solution to every single problem.

You managed to miss the entire point of my post. Read the parent again and compare them.
I'm commenting on the players who cheat to fix a problem they see in the game.
Unfortunatly it went right over your head.
And I stopped watching MTV when they cancelled Sifl & Olly.
Cherry Coke is good and people like it.
You're thinking of New Coke. Which you can actually still purchase in the mid-west. Right next to clear pepsi and Moxie.
At least the moderators got my post. Which is odd, because usually they're the clueless ones.
No, I was being a smartass and saying that everybody has something they don't like, and that doesn't give them the right to CHEAT.

I would enjoy watching that case on CourtTV.
So how do I get /. to not show Roland's submitted stories?
Oh, and on a side note: Go fuck yourself AC.
Do you know who he is?
/. for a while.
Check his posting history.
He used to claim to be a professor at a school. In a department that he made up.
He used to have a following of people pointing out his bullshit, but I think they all got tired of his crap.
He's been trolling
You were a troll. You're still a troll.
Your attempt at making people feel bad for you failed.
Kill yourself.
Such as not talking to the customer, not telling them about server downtime.. not informing customers why they are unable to play their game...
And so on and so on.
Blizzard isn't talking to the customers!
Is there a way to filter roland's submissions out?
If so, tell me how so I can do it.
I wonder how much he paid for this article.
I said "There are 5 people."
You having two licenses does not make you two people.
You failed at maths.
So he was.. zerg rushed?
keke
gg
thx
no re
You must be new here.
There are about 5 people who own their copy of Windows legally and post on slashdot.
Nothing says asshole like someone who posts obvious flamebait and cries about it later.
What the fuck are you talking about?
I was pointing out how slashdot never posts anything positive about Microsoft.
Remove the badger from your colon before you post replies.
Where's the negative spin to this Microsoft story?
Maybe something about how they offer the first hit for free?
No, it isn't. Because you're a /.'er. You know how to do things. Your mother does not.
So you're wrong? Interesting.
When you remove a disc(k) that's in use in XP, it says "Hey, jackass, I was using that!" and gives you the option to put the damn thing back in.
And I've never been able to remove a CD that's in use.. the drive is usually locked while the disc is being accessed.
You can add a PA box to the side of your front page under preferences.
You have to be logged in, of course.
What part of this "Look, I made a pretty case" website is "Stuff that Matters"?
/.?
This is the kind of thing I'd expect from [H] (and this WAS posted to [H] about 4 months ago) but
Come on, people.. It can't be that slow of a news day.
Next Headline: Nerds like Caffeine!
At least the title doesn't claim it to be a Halo 2 mod any longer... Maybe somebody does read email sent to daddypants?
