Can anyone imagine the next version of Windows being built upon a linux distribution?
Somehow, I can't see MS ever releasing a product under GPL of any version, and thus it is highly unlikely that any version of Windows will EVER be based on Linux. However, they could easily do as Apple did and fork one of the BSD's. This is highly unlikely because then MS would essentially be admitting that their software is unrecoverable crap. They are too prideful for this to ever happen.
having worked in the industry, I can tell you, it's not that they realized they were wrong and are trying to make amends. On the contrary, they still believe they are 100% in the right, and are only offering a credit because they are afraid he will cancel his service. I can guarantee you there is a catch. Probably a 2 yr contract renewal that he is automatically approving if he takes the offer. It's called a loyalty credit or retention credit, and they are giving the credit because he is extending his contract, not because they overcharged him.
It's competition because they want to sell you the physical DVD and then sell you a digital copy for your ipod. Most consumers don't know how to rip a cd or dvd, and so would probably buy the digital versions if they weren't offering this service. Therefore, this creates a (percieved) loss of income for the MPAA.
Ok, Fine. What counts as arms? a.22 pistol? A tank? A basement full of C-4? An F16? and what counts as a citizen of good standing? Someone who hasn't been convicted of a felony? Someone who has no criminal record? Does this include traffic violations? Even your clarifications must be further clarified. It's a never ending cycle that can never be fully codified.
But it's not a laptop unless you weight 600 pounds. actually, most people who weigh 600 lbs. don't have much of a lap, because the stomach flab extends down to their knees.
I know I've seen that movie. It's title is on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite get it out. Could you please tell me what it is so I can have my forhead slapping moment?
They were actually inconsistent on that very point. In the beginning, they merely transmitted the data, and then reconstituted on the other side out of some sort of matter pool. Later, they changed it transmitting the actual matter, because some people, I don't recall whether it was fans or some of the creative people involved, were uneasy with the previous practice. Something to do with the soul, and how it would be transmitted. However, after the change they were still internally inconsistent, i.e. the episode with two rikers seems to imply that only the information is transmitted.
I also recently reinstalled gentoo after spending all summer with OpenSuSE 10. The only problems I had were that I tried to use the ati-drivers package for my radeon 7500, which I didn't realize is not supported anymore, and I had a problem with sound in flash. I switched back to Gentoo, because portage is simpler to use than the Yast repositories, and the Gentoo community is the best I've ever seen. I've never had a problem with my Gentoo distro that somebody on the forums couldn't help me out of in short order. I keep hearing people talk about the wonders of Debian, but until they see fit to release for x86_64, I have no use for them. I tried to install FC5, but after 2 days of being unable to find rpms of the madwifi drivers, I gave it up for a lost cause. By contrast, my wireless works immediately after an emerge madwifi-ng and I don't have to spend hours searching. I admit that Gentoo was a pain to install the first time, but once you've done that, it'll run forever. That's what I like about Gentoo
for example, why couldn't we put a wind turbine on the grill of the car for power generation purposes. whenever the car is moving, it generates its own power. somebody with a little more expertise care to tell me if this is feasible?
Actually, the first time I installed windows XP was back around... 2003. Before that I used win2k, and about a month after installing XP, I switched to linux full time. and only occasionally installed XP to play a game for about a week. I never knew that XP broke cd writing software. That would have really pissed me off, because the stuff that came with XP was shite. cdrecord FTW!

I don't know about anybody else, but I tend to think that doctors are overpaid too.
And here I thought it was a reference To Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
This wouldn't work for a far simpler reason. The CSRs are blocked from having any internet access at all in most call centers.

You forgot Step 5. Profit!!!
You know that sound you're hearing? That's the sound of sarcasm doing a flyby on your head.
(Maybe they should have thought of the answer to this one when making the decision to have children.)
The fault in your reasoning is your assumption that most couples have children only after careful consideration.

you could always shell out 10 bucks for warcraft II battle.net edition. :)
Enjoy your stay in Gitmo.
You do realize that a large portion of the system utilities in linux come from FSF, right?

Don't worry, Mr. Walnutmon. The subpoena is in the mail.

He's also about to start writing for the marvel comic, Runaways.

Khan was also not a Klingon. He was a human created through a eugenics program of selective breeding.
Shut them down, no. Co-opt them and classify their research, Definitely.

come on! you can't just say that and then refuse to provide a link.

Roxio doesn't have a monopoly, so as I understand it, it's fine
