The Difference is that SuSE did not develop ANY of the SEVERAL media players that come available with SuSE linux. Microsoft has bundled media player, which is a microsoft creation, as an attempt to corner the market on DRM with their proprietary audio and video formats by leveraging their monopoly in Operating Systems. SuSE is not a monopoly, Has no stake in the DRM battle, and did not develop any of the media players they distribute. Thus, they are free to bundle, while for Microsoft it is anti-competetive.
males are more attracted to females of puberty age than they are to, say, females at 40
Maybe I'm just odd, but 10-15 year old girls generally don't attract me. Most of the people I socialize with are similarly inclined. I have trouble accepting this premise, and therefore your argument, at least with regard to humans. While humans are mammals, and therefore part of the animal kingdom, there are many comparisons that are just not quite "apples to apples" when comparing man to his evolutionary forbearers. I think this is one such case.
The fallacy in your argument is blindingly obvious. Unlike members of the animal kingdom, procreation is not the driving force in the lives of the average human male. Fornication is not performed exclusively for procreative purposes, thus your argument does not hold water, because the pleasure factor counterbalances the "wasted effort" factor.
generally, there will be some sort of record of when you created the work. i.e. a hard drive date stamp, or some such. Additionally, if you have created a work with the intention of distributing it, generally you will have showed it to somebody who can bear witness that you created it first. It is not a sure thing, but it has been upheld in court before.
Suse's Killer App is YaST. In my experience, Yast is by far the simplest, most intuitive system configuration tool of any linux distro. I myself use gentoo these days, but SuSe was my first linux distro, and will always hold a soft spot in my heart. If you want a simple linux, then SuSe is probably the closest you'll get. They also ship with a large assortment of wireless drivers, making it very simple to configure your wireless card.
except for the fact that he said "Google==US, and US law explicitly makes caching legal and.torrent files illegal."
he said that there is a law making it legal. they were just asking which law that was.
You sir, have just completely missed the point. While it is true that you CAN get all of those things working, many distros have them disabled by default, because those codecs are not Free. Most commercial distros do not support those codecs out of the box, because the algorithms are patented, and hence including them opens the creators of the distro to lawsuits by the patent holders. Then you have distros such as debian who do not support them out of the box from an ideological standpoint.
The GP's point was that people want these things to "just work" and in many cases this is just not possible.
I find it hard to believe that Wal-mart loses money on cigarettes. Even when I used to shop at wal-mart, I didn't buy my cigarettes there, because they were at least $.50/pack more expensive than just about anyplace else.
I don't think it's much of a privacy issue. People with money and power already know whatever they want to know about you anyway,:-). If the FBI suspects you are a terrorist, you bet they can get into your life right quick and figure out where you spend your money and what you do with your time. If they don't get enough from your bank records, they can just follow you around if they are so keen.
You are correct. Anybody who is sufficiently interested can already find out anything they want to know about me. But why make it easy for them? As things stand right now, it takes a bit of effort. What you are talking about makes things easy. If a thing is easy to do, then people are more likely to do it. Right now, if somebody wanted to know everything about me, they would have to do a bit of detective work. Say the FBI suspects me of terrorism. If I have an imbedded RFID tag, then I'm just a mouse click away. That's just asking for abuse. I personally would much rather that it takes a bit of effort, that way they have to decide if I'm really worth all the trouble.
I actually think the trade was cloak for a certain class of Bird of Prey, not warp drive. However, the Vulcans made first contact with Earth, not the Romulans. The Romulans are a sister race to the Vulcans. They both evolved on Vulcan, and then during the Time of Sarek, when Vulcans were coming very close to the point of destroying themselves through constant war, Sarek, the Vulcan "Father of Logic", convinced the majority of the population to learn to suppress their emotions, a (comparatively) small sect decided to leave the planet on several sublight spacecraft rather than supress their emotions. This is referred to by the Vulcans as "The Sundering." In TOS this was initially a closely guarded secret of the Vulcans. These sundered cousins eventually settled on the twin planets Romulus and Remus, and through generations of genetic drift became a separate species. If you look carefully, Romulans have slightly less pointed ears and more prominent brow ridges than their Vulcan cousins. For generations, the Vulcans did not know what had become of their sundered cousins. Sometime after the sundering is when Vulcans developed the warp drive. When the Romulans finally landed, their ships were in very poor shape, and they didn't have much in the way of raw materials or production methods, and were thus sent back to a sort of stone age. When The Federation made first contact with the warlike romulans, neither species had developed warp drive. The first Romulan war was carried out with sublight spacecraft.
yeah, because obviously you know so much more about the law than the DOJ. And those pesky people in the EU don't know what they're talking about either. Maybe you ought to offer to teach a class to them on the topic.
your straw man is rather feeble. Microsoft is installed by default on most computers sold. If you buy a computer, it WILL have Windows on it, unless you build it yourself. If you want to use windows, then you HAVE to use IE at least long enough to download firefox. You don't HAVE to use google to find other search engines. You don't HAVE to use google for any reason, thus they are not in any way using their search engine to force you to use their mail service, or their map service, or their calendar service. Instead, they are offering compelling reasons to use this service, i.e. the 2Gb quota on Gmail. People use google's stuff, because it works really well. People use MS's stuff because it's there and the majority of computer users aren't saavy enough to realize there is an alternative or they can't figure out how to get it. If you are going to make comparisons, you should really compare similar things.
that's my point exactly, though. Intel has much larger resources to throw into this thing. I'm afraid that AMD may just end up suing their way into oblivion to no effect. The Dollar is mightier than the sword.
But if they haven't been breaking the law, they shouldn't worry about losing the case.
That is a terribly naive statement. I have a family member who was convicted of a crime he did not commit. If the other side has really good lawyers, then it doesn't really matter whether they have a case or not. Things still tend to go their way.
and BSD lives on to this day.
Have you doublechecked that with netcraft?

User driven news aggrigators have their place, but a quality community needs editorial oversight (or groupthink on a profound level).
and guess what? We have both!

you can download an entire movie in a few minutes? WOW! Can I come over and borrow your OC3?

I'm not sure, but I think you have it backwards. From my understanding, the hand is an evolution of the fin.

I AM colorblind, you insensitive clod!
They were both poisoned. I've spent the last several years building up an immunity to iocaine powder.

Australia.

you keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
But Didn't Negroponte turn down Jobs when he offered a no cost version of OSX, because it wasn't free software?
not to mention the fact that they tend to eschew standard connectors for proprietary ones that only work with other sony products.
