  1. Re:First post? on Unmanned Cargo Ship Reaches ISS On Resupply Mission (telegraph.co.uk) · · Score: 1

KGill: I find it disconcerting about the little attention. The advances still happening are nothing less than awesome and inspiring. My guess is that too many folks are listening to Trump and voting poorly. Perhaps a future experiment could see how a Trump supporter burns-up on reentry in a Cygnus capsule. (RE: One experiment is to see how new materials survive a capsule fire.)

  2. Possibly politically neutral... on Researcher Measures Brain Reactions To Donald Trump (cnn.com) · · Score: 1

Possibly politically neutral, yet it does speak to an alarming notion: there are voting adults that are unable to accurately interpret that reaction in their brains; often mistaking it for a positive thing. Drug addicts have similar experiences with dope; they think it is good for them. And, even though many drug addicts have an awareness that it is not good, they still continue to participate. And Trump keeps getting votes!

  3. Tax them! on Canada and USA Feds Unite To Fight Spammers and Telemarketers · · Score: 1

Tax them out the wazoo! Then use some of those funds to catch and prosecute the other offenders. I do get it -- companies need to sell. And I need to know what is out there. Yet, the spam and telemarketing tools are way too abused. Rather there be an opt-IN option, from a centralized ad repository (like Google?!). I NEVER respond to ads - targeted or otherwise. Nor do I accept unsolicited calls. I ALWAYS search for what I need. I am going to start a site for folks to go see what they don't know what they need. Now, ALL ads and telemarketing can go away! Yeah, me!

Paying so much money for a (still incomplete, mediocre) fighter so far over budget and past deadlines, that action to curtail things like this need to be in place. Perhaps put a hard limit on cost (with a reasonable buffer for overruns); with a caveat that those companies pay back for failing to deliver. Those companies CEOs should bear the full brunt of the payback, and the saved deep overruns can be used to acquire and pay those companys' employees. CEOs can suffer for their underhanded, unsubstantiated bids. CEOs: if you are so worthy, then why are we paying for this crap?!

Further, I am usually crammed next to someone that should have bought my seat as they take up 1.5 to 2 seats themselves. Airlines now charge extra for a seat with a little more room (Economy class, that is). My point is that Boeing (i.e. aircraft mfgrs) need to consider making even Economy class tolerable for humans. Perhaps they should ALL be required to fly economy in a full plane at least once a week! And then made to use the lav towards the middle of the flight!
