In Denmark it is the same picture. Once all I knew were on ICQ. Then suddenly a lot of new people found IM through MSN, and all the people who once had an ICQ got an MSN too, just to have contact to the new people. Today I know no one with ICQ, I've even disabled it on gaim, but gtalk is slowly popping up.
On a related note, the gaim-vv project--which aimed to offer a framework for voice and video support in Gaim--is being merged back into Gaim proper for hopeful incorporation into Gaim 2.0.0. This will be used to support Google Talk's voice as well as MSN and Yahoo! webcams.
They want to be able to go to a third party software/driver website, follow the 'click here for Linux version' hyperlink, download the file, then double-click to install it.
Exactly, and that's much easier in Linux. You download the program, you double-click on the.rpm file, and the program is installed. There is no installation manager or anything to waste your time.
Gimp can't implement cmyk because of patent issues, but you can grab it as a plug-in: http://www.blackfiveservices.co.uk/separate.shtml
8bpp? Doesn't gimp work with 24bpp? 256^3?
The Linux people use it, and maybe the mac people too.
I think it is very up to data, probably even better that direct3d in some ways.
If you put this into perspective on the mono case. Then what will happen when the c# "standard" is widely used?
Because mono isn't a c# clone, but a .net clone, and .com really is taken.
Thought about grabbing TheOpenCD? http://www.theopencd.org/
Seems that msn 8 will have offline messages. http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/msn8.asp

Uhm, I think I'd prefer a watch like this: http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/6a17/
