"... shouldn't you at least PLAN on a round-trip ticket, assuming all the obstacles can be overcome, even if it's a long shot?" I think one should, considering the amount of frequent flyer miles he can earn:).
the tasks are same, but your desktop had to occupy a lot of space. You cant carry it everywhere. It required more than 100 watts of power and it required a bulky CRT Screen.
In your mobile you want all that in 3 inch screen. You recharge your mobile once in few days and should run with few watts of power that the battery picks up between recharges. Aint this all so different?
I was about to reply with Zen when I found your reply.
Let me second what Macthorpe had recommended.
1) Audio quality- check SNR - Zen is better. Perceived audio quality according to me is same as iPod (although I dont have great ear to tell very minor differences). 2) More features - very much better than iPod - can play FM!! also voice recorder - and plays (m)any video formats including DivX. Shit with my iPod, I have to convert any video to mp4 and thats painful and takes 4 hours on my 2 GB machine. 3) Better Interface - I cant say this because I found Zen interface to be very much usable, but since I have been using iPod for a year, that seems comfortable. Had I been using Zen for a long time, I m sure I would tell that iPod interface sucks though.. and yes, one thing is sure, the UI is as robust as iPod. 4) Price - 20$ less than iPod.
There are also one negative side (and the biggest) and is lack of many accessories customised to the zen. For example, I cant find an accessory like the Belkin Party speakers for iPod. Since iPod is the market leader, that seems quite obvious though.
People who feel alienated and thus cant adapt to the evolutionary changes in MS Office will have little inclination to adapt to a new Office software such as OpenOffice..
So much rampant is its usage that one of my innocent friend asked me if Linksys was a free Wifi Provider, since she was always able to get free internet, thanks to Linksys.:)
I am serious wondering why they dint think of the PS3s. 700,000 PS3s recently subscribed to a network that ended up in Peta Flops peak performance. If I were managing this stuff, I would seriously take a look on that direction. Cell Processors are designed for such distributable tasks and they are very good at it.
I m sure you can't give an alternative. Assume you would save it in your computer, thats even worser. Your computer HDD has much higher crash rate than a server's HDD (which is RAIDed), which is very very very high than Google's storage.
If you arent convinced with their storage reliability, you could consider reading their GFS paper available to public to see how reliably they store.
In any case, saving off their infrastructure is much more reliable than anywhere else.
This is not funny, but the truth. My MacBook Pro doubles up as an iron box. I usually leave my Macbook on the previous night on the bed above a cloth, the next day, its cleanly ironed. If the cloth was flimsy, take a guess, it becomes a glamorous dress too:D..
and can I run Linux on it? Or it on Linux? Is it available for my iPhone?
First lets figure out if we can run Vista with it. Vista is toooooo slow.
wish I had mod points .. :-)
Femto was the best of all
I thought Titan was a gas station for aliens to fill up gas before reaching earth?
%> /usr/bin/treaceroute fruity.stuff
i think you got the command wrong: it is /usr/bin/traceroute fruity.stuff
Unix is unforgiving if you make a typo.
do you mean, wiping with alcohol will get the influenza virus drunk (and get ticketed from this world by Infecting under influence?).
In Soviet Russia, children worry about YOU!!!
RTFA, its Sweden>Or maybe you could implement a virtual machine cluster of 250 cores.
And try seeing if Vista is atleast responsive in that configuration.
If you implement this, the whole world will be slashdotted soon.. You know what I mean ;)

Is there a first time 50% discount because of which it is 27 million?

Hope this was as close as review

Then you will wait eternally. The last unconfirmed rumor from Redmond is that you need Google/Yahoo class distributed system to run their OS.
