IMHO DRM means Do Remind Me... not to support their products. It is our dollars that give these gentlemen the means to prop up antiquated business plans by manipulating the patent system. I have rights and I am happy to stipulate theirs; and happily say no thank you to their DRM'd offerings.
Good point, as each of us can only know what we know. I know I need a new refridgerator and am pissed that Apple doesn't make one (yet.) I would also buy and Apple car, boat, motorcycle, fishing gear and tackle, pens... you get my point. And I did I mention Linux on the Mac?
Apple is going in the right direction there but with limited hardware and inflated prices, it's not a viable alternative for the desktop, as pretty as it is.
Yeah, right. Besides, ever wonder how many IT folks would be out of a job if everything Just Works?
Mod Parent Up please. I work with many home-based freelancers and other home-office types and it is trench warfare between the wintel users and their machines, but they'd rather fight than switch. I say Windoze is broken and M$ cannot fix it.
It's like an ignorance bubble.
Meanwhile the clients I do manage to switch to Apple -- they become mac zealots pretty quickly.
And no, solar power is not going to work for this. Mining and fuel production requires too much power for solar to be a realistic option.
What about sending solar harvesters closer to the sun to collect more energy? If that were done, we could then transport that energy to where it is needed, like constructing Ringworld!
Here's my idea: Texas Hold 'Em where an online dating site seats virtual tables, and where the players wear nothing but Ralph Lauren Polo and hula-hoop while using CB radios to make bids and use pet rocks for money.
Mod me off-topic along with parent but hear me out. This nation is eating a mountain of anti-depressants (and yes I was once eating them myself) and with this Gulf news and the war in Iraq, global warming, right- and left-wing crazies it seems the reaction is pretty much the same... no real, viceral reaction. Even the stock market is stuck in a narrow range with all the change happening in the world. Can anyone rule out the effect of anti-depressants in our collective reaction to the events of this world?
M0d me down, up, off-topic whatever, but I never go out of my head a story by Asimov, I think, called The Wheels Must Roll. It was all about a public conveyance that simply rocked (and rolled.) Anybody remember more about it? I googled the name and surprisingly didn't find much. I want that system!

How about MicrosoftAhOLe? That works for me.
In a few days this guy will be in a 10 foot cube of lucite in Steve Balmer's office.

Microsoft+AOL motto: Only do evil.

Plus, with 101! keystroke combinations there's always room for a communications breakdown.
If that's too rich for ya, how about gmail invites? Slashdotters could come up with a million of those I bet.

I for one, bid farewell to our fossil fuel overlords.
Congratualations. You just rediscovered the Golden Ratio.
I, for one, welcome our new Chief Justice Ballmer to lead us!

Just my musings, I suppose...
I am running the older kernel and it kept me from getting first post.

Radd, Norrin Radd.
Keep the best and shoot the rest.
