Agreed. I love BNL (they're right up there with Guster and Metallica) and I think what they did is cool - and should even be supported. I bought Maroon and it's really good.
Though, if you really want GOOD BNL, I suggest Rock Spectacle, their live album. Fantastico.
You know, if they actually DID port OS X, I would give serious thought to giving it a partition on my hard drive. I'd be very interested in seeing how it would work on my PC.
It'll be fine. With the onset of electronic textbooks, there will be a whole new group of crackers getting the content out there for phr33. A happy day it will be indeed.
Not even kidding, dude. I spent a semester in Atha Cliath and Eircom didn't seem to know what I was talking about when I went to the office on St. Stephen's Green and tried to ask about DSL or Cable Modem Internet access. Esat just laughed at me. You'd think SOMEONE would realize that it would be in their best interests to get their broadband act together, especially WRT the whole Celtic Tiger phenomenon (largely powered by IT industries springing up).::sigh::
It's CDMA, which means it's connection-oriented and will more than likely use your minutes in order to do Internetting. An example of a carrier which uses this type of system would be Sprint. AT&T, on the other hand, uses TDMA, which can use the GPRS packet-oriented system to provide essentially free Internet access which is always on.
My advice? Wait for AT&T to come out with 3G services and then go ahead and drop your DSL connection; you won't be needing it anymore.
You're right - to a point. You're actually allowed to land in your backyard if you so choose - provided you don't live in a metropolitan area. The FAA does not permit recreational flying over metro areas. You can check out more information regarding exactly what's permitted at the Experimental Aircraft Association, of which I am a card-carrying member:)
Interesting. I saw some links to this waaaaay back on Ars Technica last year when this company was just getting started. Even then they had a halfway-working prototype. If you think the Solotrek is cool, check out the DuoTrek, which is almost insanely cool with a pressurized cabin and 4 different vectorable engines. No word on projected costs yet, unfortunately.
I haven't noticed that one. Odd. The new windows seem not to have a problem if you close some old ones, so I guess I've never gotten to that point.I'm reading/. in Mozilla now and I have to say I'm getting addicted to the rendering speed:) By the way, quick and easy way to reveal your text if it goes invisible on you: highlight it with the mouse.
What the hell is a left-handed table? A table is a table!
Why is Goth good?
The trick is to twist it a bit before you try to smash it.
Give it a little help before you try and you can crush almost any beer can.
How is this redundant?! It's even RELEVANT for God's sake!
Taco, please pay attention.
Now it's just a matter of waiting for some (enterprising? dumbass?) hardware freak to overclock the thing into the GHz range.....
Indeed. My friend coded one a few days ago. Didn't look all that difficult.

Mod this up. It is worth a great deal of consideration.

"Only" 56K access? I'm sure if you wanted to you could get a T1 or ISDN line run out to your apt/house, no matter where you live.
This is all a matter of cost, of course. How much is this FTTH service going to cost? I can't imagine it'll be less than $200/mo.

Don't forget the fact that Qualcomm OWNS CDMA. You have to pay them licensing fees to use it. Methinks that might slow its adoption a wee bit.
There's also the small matter of CDMA having only connection-oriented data capabilities. Or is this new 153kbit deal CDMA's entry into packet data?
