I used to have a huge crush on OS X, but that's before I went fully Linux on my laptop at home. Now, I'm just spoilt stupid by keyboard shortcuts, barely ever having to touch my mouse, and having my software mysteriously gain new functionality every time I 'apt-get upgrade'.
Seriously, I *might* eventualy be taken in my the prettiness of the laptops, but I *know* I'm dual-booting Debian on it. Although I hear you can run OS X inside X-windows on Linux on Macs...
I just tried this. I had to click "Change preferences", and then I have a "Without an animated screen character" option, and then the dogs walks right the f/ off!
True, and they have had their core material ripped out. The thing is, if Mr. Wales had wanted to keep something out of Wikipedia, it can just be put back in now. The content can still be salvaged by people with Admin access (like wikitruth are doing), and I definitely *don't* want to see wikimedia have to face legal issues over wikipedia, so it's a win-win-win situation. What's the problem again?
One is essentially a full article, one a stub, and (as mentioned) Brian Peppers is WP:OFFICEd. If Wikipedia is "censoring" stuff, they're not doing a very good job, apparently?

Really? Check out their MSFT page - it really is a lot better organised than Yahoo's. Once they support Singaporean stocks (they already have lots of information), I'm gonna be all over these guys.

What happened to John the Baptist? He got killed for fairly random reasons, then was immortalised, and then him and the guy he announced (a certain Mr. Christ) went on to change the world.
That's all Stallman wants, too, and all I've got to say is, more power to him. I would much rather live in a world without DRM than one with.

You mean he doesn't know that The World is not Flat?! Despite somebody publishing a hit book proving just that? That level of ignorance is impressive!
realultimatepower?
Actually, you can get a mirror at http://slashdot.cuteness.org/, in all its OMG!!! PONIES!!!, err, cuteness.

Thanks for the info!
I didn't know they had a 'fortune' box!
I find your definition of 'trivial' ... disturbing. :|
Today's quote-of-the-day is:

p.s. Aha! I'm not the only one who thought so!

Both the MediaWiki software as well as the database itself are freely available.
Horror stories like this one, or this one, both written by Richard Preston.
(The second link has an interview with Dr. Alibek)
You just made my morning with that post :). Funniest thing I've read in a while :).
If you don't go up to +5 in a minute, I shall just have to accept that There Is No Mod.
Still laughing,

Military knowledge?! Howitzers are what I used to drive the Celts out of Africa in 1999!
That was one fun Civ2 game
Wish I had mod points right now ...
Opera does.
Eh, it's about 10,000 closer to '1' :p. Good to know our attempts at virtual headexploding were unsuccessful. See ya 'round!
I love how you phrased that! Do you mind if I quote you on my blog?
I get dibs on his UID!
You just made me donate. Thanks.

I'm not sure what Uranus has to do with this, though ...
