That said, I don't know. If I were to speculate I would expect that the answer lies with social issues like poverty and illiteracy, and/or a lack of education. This strikes me as likely for two reasons:

Firstly, it seems logical to suggest that the poor/illiterate would be less likely to subscribe to high speed internet access

That was my first impression reading many of the posts here. In my city, for example, St. Louis, MO., the majority of the middle-to-upper class citizens live in the suburbs. Where as the lower income or "less" educated people tend to live in the city. I dare to stereotype because less income does not necessarily mean less educated, but St. Louis is weird in that we seem to focus more on the suburbs than the downtown area. People are leaving the city for the suburbs. There is a trend, however, within the past few years, to bring life back to the urban areas. Many new condo and apartment projects have been started(or are being started) in the downtown area.

As far as getting broadband access, I haven't had any problems from any place that I've lived so far. Most of my friends and family have some sort of broadband access as well.

    Regards.

Those who are red-green weak, such as myself, do not see reds and greens as bright as people who do not have the deficiency. Therefore, any picture or object that attempts to show what red-green weak color-blind people see to "normal" color vision people will just make their red and green hues darker (or more faded). That's why some red-green weak color-bind people will turn up the red and green on their televisions to compensate for this "lack of brightness". Perhaps that is why blue is my favorite color ;)

    1) Greenhouse gases create a greenhouse effect. What this means is that if you have a lot of C02 in the air, it will trap the heat, creating higher temperatures in the area. Our sister planet, Venus, has a runaway greenhouse gas problem. There are so many greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, that the planet keeps getting warmer and warmer. This in turn, creates more greenhouse gases. The place isn't very hospitable.

Yes, but, the effect of CO2 is logarithmic, not exponential. Meaning, once you reach a certain amount of CO2, adding more CO2 will have minimal to no effect on trapping more heat.

    3) This has been going on for a very long time. Accordingly, the Earth has shown a HUGE spike in global temperatures since the Industrial Revolution.

Actually, if you refer the the "hockey stick" chart it shows a sharp spike starting at about 1880, which is when we first started tracking data, well before our industrial era. Furthermore, the data shows that the earth has increased in temperature by ~0.3C from 1880 to 1940 and another ~0.3C from 1940 to present. Since, we rose ~0.3C before the industrial era and before man was significantly contributing to the CO2 levels, how do we explain the previous 0.3C increase? Perhaps we shouldn't scream "CO2" just yet, when infact, it may have little or no effect.
