But that statement was plain dumb.Its well known that, anywhere in the world [ & almost in any industry ] , people who do low end jobs , physically hard jobs with long working hours are among the lowest paid in the organisation.And as the hierarchical level goes higher , the pay rises.The work is different and is managerial among other things.Why blame America for that?
Your rationalization that "since the people at the bottom and top of the hierarchical ladder work the same number of hours, the pay should not be big for the top person " does not hold water.

I have been using computers for about 6 years...
Iam used to typing looking at the keyboard.
I would love to simply type looking at the monitor like you guys do!
Any quick [ I dont mean hours, days I mean ]tutorial/method , for me to learn typing without looking @ the keyboard at a good speed?
I have a little different question from the story submitter.
What iam interested is not typing, but reading ebooks.
I have never used a handheld before, and I would now like to get a cheap handheld [ since iam a first time user ] kind of thing,so that I can read ebooks when Iam traveling etc..
What they really need to update is the Update component of Firefox itself!
For heaven sake,Dont make users download the whole package everytime!Thats a real Inconvenience for all, and its a burden for dial up users to download a 5 MB file that takes anywhere b/w 30 min and a hour .
But that incident has more to do with the effect of alcohol rather than the college the guy is from.Obviously,Even a MIT student could have been like that under Vodka!:-)
So whats the big deal about mass mailing worms decreasing?
I see more and more computers,that are infected by simply connecting to the INTERNET [ even on a freshly installed MS WINDOWS]
Its been only 2days since i have installed win2000 on my machine, which many people recommended to be safe,and now my comp is filled with viruses!!
I have visted a few finance site like yahoo finance,checked mail etc.I have no idea from where these viruses came from!!!
Oh yea, i got NAV2003,ZA firewallAdaware,spybot etc, but nothing seems ward off viruses n trojans....
So,what iam trying to say is , there isnt much to be happy about the decrease in the mass mail worms.They have adavced such that,merely connecting to internet is enough............
At this rate,iam beginning to fear using comps,althoug i have used it for more than a decade.
This problem may not concern those of you [MOst of you ] who are on High speed INternt.
It is really Annoying and difficult to have to download the whole firefox installer everytime for an update.
Just last nite i downloaded the 1.0.1 ver [ I know,i was late] over 30 minutes on my dial up, and today i have to download the whole thing again?
WHY CANT PATCHES BE RELEASED INSTEAD OF HAVING TO DOWNLOAD THE FULL INSTALLER?
I do Like firefox,but this problem is really annoying me and costing me money ! [ i gotta pay my fone bills! ]
