Ok, different company, different distro.. same marketingspeak, same arguments... Can somebody copy all comments on such a previous article on slashdot to this one?
I think the idea is cool.. but when I buy a old-fashioned paper book.. I pay EUR 20... Or even less when I get one at the library. Now.. I want to go on the subway and read an e-book... Where do I get the equipment (issue 1.. you might nog be able to buy it in the store next door) and... the initial buy is not even close to EUR 20. So costs is a huge issue.
Well, when I configure a PC on the Dell site (dutch site) I have never ever seen an option of freedos. And hiding an option is not giving an option. You should be able to select it as easy as a windows os
Just test your hardware on 1 or 2 distro's, make mention of that, and give people the option to buy a dell pc without an OS. Now you not only alienate large sections that don't want that linux distro you sell on your pc... but the whole group that doesn't want windows
Look at the community, are newbies treated as human beings or as filth that shouldn't bother the LEET people. Is there a forum, a wiki, mailing-list... and how active are they? And is documentation updated regularly and more or less in sync with the latest version.
"I demand that George Bush pull us out of whatever God forsaken U.N. treaty that got us into this mess."
Or he can do what he does with all other treaties.... either ignore them or don't participate because the short-term economy is obviously much more important than our children's future.
So... about 99% of the people I know (I'm hangin' with the wrong crowd, don't remind me) use msn.. and with that I mean the Microsoft client. The have all kinds of neat stuff like the emoticons that you can show other people, audiochat, videochat, a buzzer (which is very annoying btw) and, nudges, winks... which don't have any real function besides being considered a MUST HAVE amongst almost every msn user. And not 1 microsoft-client msn-alternative comes even close in implementing this. And Gaim 2.0 probably won't either.
I know.. if it ain't there.. do it yourself... but I'm not capable of coding such a thing. Maybe the specs are closed... whatever. Fact is that at this moment for a lot of young people.. msn is the killer app.
So for $2.500.000 each they will get access to the brightest ideas concerning the internet in the next 5 years... Is it just me or is that the bargain of the century?
I probably don't know what I'm talking about, but I'm wondering....
What is the performance if the GPU is busy rendering when you play a game? When the GPU is busy doing what it is supposed to do... a program should resort to qsort right?
Oh man.. they posted this article 4 days early !!!

So... how is this news that one consolemaker is trying to compete with another consolemaker?
Or were people thinking they were trying to compete with a Whopper?
Or is the article trying to imply that the fact that they are going to have an online service hasn't been well known for ages?
I have a pc with windows on it... I never turn it on because it works better that way. No BSOD no virii etc etc.
:-)
Wish I could've done my exams that way... not answering any questions so you can't have a faulty answer
61999 miles to go...
So anyone taking bets on how long it will take before these 'hunted to near extinction' mammals will really be extinct?
"You can't beat longer battery life and better performance."
:-)
;-)
Sure you can.... longer battery life, better performance and lower pricing
And it's easy to top that one as well

A $2.5 billion marketing campaign? No wonder their chips are so much more expensive than AMD's !
Alright! Didn't hear about that one :-) I'll go try it. Thanx !
ok,didn't know that. Thanx

For 'the troops' to be safe.... try getting along with eachother for starters.... Everybody will be a lot safer.
thanx

"You know you're a geek if you've ever replied to a tagline."
Thanx for the compliment !!!
It's a very good strategy to 'accidentally' leak some info before launch of a new product/service.
It creates attention and if you're lucky... hype.
LOL... you made your point :-)
But often things that are constructed for scientific purposes are one day going to be used for general purpose. I was obviously thinking about that...

On the learnmorsecode page (very useful, thanx), the all-important and recently added @ sign is missing.
