"The sampling rate of 44.1 kHz is inherited from a method of converting digital audio into an analog video signal for storage on video tape, which was the most affordable way to get the data from the recording studio to the CD manufacturer at the time the CD specification was being developed. A device that turns an analog audio signal into PCM audio, which in turn is changed into an analog video signal is called a PCM adaptor. This technology could store six samples (three samples per each stereo channel) in a single horizontal line. A standard NTSC video signal has 245 usable lines per field, and 59.94 fields/s, which works out at 44,056 samples/s/stereo channel. Similarly, PAL has 294 lines and 50 fields, which gives 44,100 samples/s/stereo channel. This system could either store 14-bit samples with some error correction, or 16-bit samples with almost no error correction."
Who needs a monkey? Just write a script that searches "googlebomb" for discussion pages on googlebombs, and automatically demote the sites mentioned. Why waste a good 15k?
I thought the "i" prefix came from the "I"nternet? Much like the "E" prefix came from "e"lectronic. So, this means that Al Gore really has the rights to the "i" branding, and not Apple. Apple, however, has the rights to "Mac", so they should go and sue for trademarks such as "Mac n Cheese" and the "Big Mac".
This reminds me of years ago when P2P networks first started to become popular. I went into MSPaint, created a new file... I used my mouse and my "awesome" *cough.cough* art skills to wrtie the word "porn" on the screen. I would then save it as "porn.jpg", and see how many losers would download it. Now, if I where to rename that same file to "child_porn.jpg", I probably would have been arrested.
Woah, that just gave me a heavily abusive idea.... What would happen if a "spam server" attempted to load a CAPTCHA page, and then streamed that CAPTCHA image to a different web server as part of a "login" system. Its own login system would just ignore the image itself, but take that user input for it and pass it along to the site it is spamming. This would be a piss poor easy way to get people to break CAPTCHA for FREE. Just shove this sort of bullshit into a popular porn web site, and you have hopeless geeks all day long filling in CAPTCHA information for your spam bots.
For the past few years, I've been paying for a 1Mbps cable line, and averaging around 1.5 to 2Mbps at any given time. I'm not complaining. (I user a locally owned ISP, not one of the national chains)
Personally, nowadays I'm giving people PHP as their first language. Well, first PROGRAMMING language. HTML is fairly easy and simple to understand, so giving them basic assignments of doing text output (like number generators for example) in PHP is a nice begining.
Part of the reason I prefer to give people PHP, is because quite a few web servers support it now. Another reason, is because you don't need a compiler. The next would be the simplicity of string manipulation. And from there, you can get people into basic file handling and other things of that nature which will carry over nicely to other languages.
I'm suprised that nobody has mentioned Wikipedia yet. This site is nothing BUT user created content, AND the best possible resource for students at ANY education level.
If you try to run the windows version of the test, it specifically states that it wont work on "recent service packs", and then fails, suggesting to run it on "another OS".
one good way to look at this, i guess... is that zombies wont be running around with spoofed IPs... oh wait, zombies are usually the ones that never update to the latest service packs anyways. *doh*
Their flash animation has the lil outward moving things from the top of one of the "I"s, much like what many animations do to show a signal from a Wifi icon. So yes, IMO thats what they are going for.
I have a Live Drive already, its called the bay device that comes w/ the high-end SoundBlaster Live cards, and its specifically called the Live Drive. So, does this mean Creative Labs gets to sue Microsoft over the name?
The parent may have been moderated as "troll", but its TRUE, and annoying. I have signed up for the Vista beta testing program, and was quite pissed off to find out that they STILL arent supporting my SATA controller (SiI-3112 non-RAID configuration). We where hoping for support of the more common controllers back with Windows XP SP2. Here it is a few YEARS later, and I cant even install the latest Vista beta.
because lord knows

is much easier to figure out what the hell is going on
no, i'm not trying to say VB is great, but sometimes the braces becomes a head ache in largely nested code. and no, i'm not saying i write code like this, but have had to deal with it picking up and fixing other's libraries.
VB is much easier for the beginer, because it is much clearer. its syntax was designed to be cloesr to spoken english then harsh machine code, therefor its over-all easer to pick up and get into for a novice.
line between hardcore developers and the average Joe will start to get very fuzzy.
no, its still there. plain and clear. hardcore programmers write the API, and the script kiddies still write lame little "hacking" utils that really dont do much of anything useful.
The one that I'm currently editing to say it.

Thats why we now have our Domokun Defense Force on hand... http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/54206858/
Windows Vista runs my Sim City just fine!

I sure hope that Adobe uses the term "click here" on their site then....

I was thinking more along the lines of iPhony
I would have called it "Wired" or "Seventh Gen Protocol" if it where me...

And then Apple stepped in and turn that term, (inter)net profits, into a reality with the iTunes Music Store.

never heard of RoadRunner, part of AOL-TimerWarner?
