I don't think you know what a captcha is. whatcouldpossiblygowrong is a tag. A captcha is the thing you type in to let slashdot know that you're not a robot.
I used to listen to di.fm quite a bit, and it was pretty cool. I was just getting into electronic music, but it was difficult to find stuff I liked, since no radio stations here (Los Angeles) play it consistantly (Granted, a few shows at night do, but you're looking at either listening to that or nothing, and you are only even given that option between a few hours on a few days.) so the net radio was perfect for me. I found it through iTunes' Radio listing, so I never was taken to the di.fm site anyway (I have since gone on my own, but that's not the point). I wound up ripping the stream for a few weeks, and after eliminating the duplicates and such, it was a nice addition to my music library, not to mention pointed me in the right direction. The stream was only 96 kbps, but that's still not unlistenable. Anyway, the point is, now I know what I like, and if any of the artists I found were performing, I'd see them. Unfortunately, many of the artists are European, so the point is moot. Oh well. Oh, and last.fm is cool for stuff like that, too, but I didn't learn about it until much later.

I play UT2k4 nearly every day, and one of my favorite parts about it is the hud. I used to play quake 3, but having to switch weapons only to see that I don't have a specific gun was a pain. I also like being able to see all my ammo levels at once. Flag info is great and a must. Team overlay is also handy quite often. Time is absolutely necessary for timing powerups. I have to manually enable net and fps meters, but they're handy. Besides, if you don't like the hud, you can always turn it off. You can even remove parts of it. I think that that's the best way to do things, where you have the option of having parts on or off. I wouldn't want to be forced into whatever the developer thought was the "optimal" layout.
Antennae is only appropriate when applied to zoology. The correct term for the plural of radio antenna is "antennas."

My elementary school banned tag ever since I went there, which was 12 years ago. They also assigned us play areas. We could play kickball, basket ball, handball, or volleyball, but it was their choice which one we played and where. If we did something else, we were told to sit on a bench for the remainder of recess or lunch.
1. 3-4 Years for me too.
2. A few weeks. I have been in music stores with friends while we were hanging out.
3. Hm, don't recall, but I've been recently (In the last two months) been given movies as gifts, so if that counts then two months.
"How do they know that the range is only in the area defined...what if some people can hear it miles away?"
Sound does not work like this, especially in the daytime.
"And my hearing for high-frequency noises has lasted to my mid-30s...what if I can hear it, too?"
You will be forced to deal with mild annoyance! Hurry up and get your shopping overwith and don't hang around the front of these stores!
"And I had a friend one time who was deaf, but his hearing aide sometimes translates mere whistles to a physically painful noise - what would this do to hearing aide users?"
What frequency is the speaker on the hearing aide even capable of producing? Regardless, if you can't hear it now, you likely won't hear it then.
"And why discriminate against young people - maybe these kids should get smart and send round a bunch of aged street winos to hang out in front of the store? What about pets, how does it affect them?"
The teenage hooligans, winos, and pets are in cahoots. Many stores do not even allow pets, and why would winos just decided to hang around a store because some teens told them to? What difference does it make?
"And how long until the kids wise up and buy a $2 pair of earplugs?"
I don't think that most people would really sit around with earplugs just to be infront of a store. Even if you had a place you liked to hang out, would you seriously sit there with earplugs screaming to your friends for more than five minutes?
"Now, you'd think I'd identified all the ways this was wrong. But no, the corker is he used his own kids as lab rats for this! Why does this sick bastard still have custody of them?"
I don't think it's illegal to bother your children with annoying noises, as long as you do not cause them physical harm or pain. The point of this is that it is annoying, but does not cause pain.
The purpose of this is to repel people who are actually causing trouble. A store for teens would obviously not use one of these. The article mentions a story where teens loiter outside and intimidate customers. It says that teens can still go in the store unbothered, but do not tend to stay nearby for more than a few minutes.
By the way, this is not "discriminating" at all. Also, I can not see how this breaks any laws. What sort of crazy law would it be? "Everyone must be able to hear every sound that someone decides to broadcast" ? Some adults can hear the sound, some teens cannot. What is the issue?

Well there you go. Good to know!
You can bring an ipod, and you can't bring a lighter, and you put your shoes back on.
"I'm on the ground now, please head to the airport to pick me up." I don't think it's that complicated.
Sir, your comment makes me laugh.
It is intentional. :)

We can solve this with a simple u-substitution.
u = "start referring to nonmembers as 'laymen'"
When members of a profession u, it is time to start shooting them.
It becomes clear, now.
Well put, sir.

"10,102 (paying the 98c) songs ~= 40,408 GB of music."
No.
Songs are not 4 GB each.
Songs are 4 MB, so 40.4GB or, all the songs on a single ipod.
