I'm sure there's something in iTunes' service agreement that would prevent this, but it's a funny thought none the less. And more importantly, is it even legal for someone like Apple to take away your rights to resell something you bought from them???

You would need the ability to feel whether or not something is hard or soft, whether or not it is rough or smooth, and that's really about it? Could both smoothness and hardness be deteched by the same sensors? If anyone knows please reply...it's fasinating :)

You could split it 3 ways between those markets and you'd have just 3 million sales each (we'll say 4 in the US for reality's sake and to make it 10). Those kind of numbers don't sound very unreasonable once you break it down like that. Now, the only problem is the wildcard of how many people are going to be able to see the need to switch to the next generation yet. Graphics junkies like me will be able to tell the difference, but will the aveage joe be able to see that big of a difference between Doom3 on the Xbox and Gears of War on the Xbox360? $300 worth of a difference? I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

As spyware companies boom and governments and corporations take away more and more of our privacy and rights, open source software is one our few tools for freedom left. The current trend in most all big business you see these days looks at making quick profits rather than long term. Just look at the soda and candy industries... you see a new flavor of "Sprite Remix" come out every couple of months, or a new weird type of M&M all the time. The manufacurers believe the initial sales of this "interesting" new product will outway the long term sales of a quality one. The video game industry does this too. Most games are designed and marketed to only make money for the first couple of months they are released then fade into obscurity. The film industry used to go against this and release quality "timeless" movies that would hold up for decades and continue to sell, but they've fallen into this trap as well.

Basically what it boils down to is greedy men (and women) wanting to make a quick buck and not worried about the future nor consequence.

That's a pretty broad misunderstanding most people have. An analogue pad is just as accurate as any mouse, the problem is that most analogue pads are not tuned tightly enough to make up for the innacuracy of your thumbs. So really, it's your thumbs vs. your wrist that causes the innacuracy, and if you spend more time on a gamepad (like me) you're better at aiming with one than a mouse.
