Of course this isn't the first time China has junked exploration plans. In the 1400s, their voyages to Eastern Africa and Southern Asia were stopped and all the records of them were destroyed. This was done to allow more cash to be spent on keeping the Mongols/barbarians out and reform society. This attitude and even this specific event explain why China is where it is today.
If I've got some of the history wrong, correct me. I took the AP test on World History a couple of weeks ago and now all the information is leaking out of my brain.
Actually, what else could a software company want? Think about it, they're basically developing a product that has features that will eventually be sold to generate revenue. But the best part (for redhat anyway) is that they have a huge and completely free testing and bug-fixing population. What a deal.
...made out of wood, isn't it? And if it's made out of wood, how would it have lasted for 3000+ years, even if it is somehow in the unlikely position of being on top of a snowy/cold mountain?
All the linux products I know of (and I don't know of many.. hence the marketing problems) are all targeted at the geek community.
As is linux in general. Think about it, what average Joe can use an OS that doesn't do anything for him?
Oh, and solitaire doesn't come preinstalled...
I usually just boot off of my Norton Utilities disc to disenfect. Interestingly enough, I had to do that immediately after installing XP pro because of some trojan that made it keep rebooting during software update...
Don't the Borg use a brain-computer interface to network their people together to become one?
The Borg aren't real. Yes I know you know that, but I think it's worth pointing out to put the tin-foil-hat arguement in perspective.
You forgot a step:
4. PROFIT!!!!
Sorry...but someone had to say it.

Integrating or liscensing a micro$oft product into a linux distro is heresy, isn't it?

What will it cost? Something an order of magnitude above Pentium Extreme(ly expensive) Edition? Will it be compatible with anything?
