Use the "Off" button when you're out for a movie, on a date with your girlfriend or having a beer with your buddies.
It will improve your social life, relieve some stress and you might stop looking like a pedantic ass.
This doesn't always help... The power button is extremely touchy and sometimes when you think that you turned your phone off, it will be on and dialing someone in your pocket. If you *really* want it to be off, turn off the cell radio and lock it. Maybe put it into standby as well.
Not to say that this would stop it from turning off... the blackberry is the only phone I have encountered which can be turned off while the keys are locked. As long as you hold the power button long enough, it will turn off, regardless of whether or not the keys are locked. This is the most annoying "feature" I have ever encountered and you can't turn it off.

the thing that really matters is whether or not they enforce the law. The law may just be passed so that they have legal grounds to jail someone who is pirating ps2 games. That doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to go house from house looking for modded ps2's and arresting the poeple who have them.
My question is why we're trying to "keep up" with windows... I agree that the operating system should be user friendly, that is always a plus. But I don't see anyone expecting windows to run linux apps. I don't see anyone expecting windows to run mac apps. Simply because they hold 94% of the market share doesn't mean that linux must emulate them in its entirety to be successful. I admit that it is nice when you have apps that run on both operating systems, but the goal here shouldn't be to make linux a windows wanna-be.
I hate how windows limits Fat32 partitions to 2gb.... you can format it in dos pretty much as large as you want, but windows forces you to use ntfs if your drive is larger than 2 gb.

Agreed. I can't live without Firefox, no matter what OS I'm on.
I think you're being redundant there...
Hmm... not sure who a ./ editor is...
I think that I would be a little disturbed too if a robot were to come into my room when I was being examined.
Anyone hear of previewing your message before you hit submit...? I'm not sure that I've ever heard of a robort...
Is this similar to the Dow do-know-evil index that includes Microsoft?
Who needs intuition when you have google?

Maybe you should consider the iRiver iHP-120 or iHP-140. They have a built-in FM Tuner as well as either a 20 or 40 gb hard drive respectively.
yeah, but just unchecking those three boxes only removes the links to the programs, it doesn't actually remove the programs.
