  1. Re:KDE to Gnome...? on SUSE 10.1 Released · · Score: 1

I recently installed SuSE 10.0 on my laptop (a little over a week ago), and would like to point out that GNOME is in NO way the default. Though it is true that KDE is no longer the default, though thats just during the installer it asks you which DE you would like to use with the options of KDE, GNOME, or Other (yes, KDE is at the top of the list), though KDE isn't checked by default anymore. YaST's GUI is still Qt based (I think a GTK version is being worked on though). I tried an early version of Kubuntu out and found that it wasn't polished at all, and I encountered lots of bugs (though I think it was a beta). SuSE on the other hand seems to be very polished, YaST works really well and makes configuring/package management very easy.

If you prefer KDE I would recommend trying out SuSE if you haven't, hopefully Ximian won't ruin it though.

And that mod could of just as easily include new meshes/textures of nude body parts as 'unlock' the texture in oblivion (the texture is used for layering so that the armor will actually look somewhat correct)

I have to second this, I was just at a lan party this weekend, and we were all told to make sure steam was completely updated before hand (which took a good while), and I followed the guide to get steam to work in offline mode, yet I was only allowed to play Half-Life 2:DM when in offline mode (I got something like an operation prohibited error on HL/CS/HL2/CSS/DoD). I had to run it in offline mode because we weren't allowed to connect the lan to the internet (it was at a university's campus).

Also it seems every single freaking steam update breaks it on Wine in some way (I tried to play on Windows at the lan, since I couldn't get the new version to work with Wine).

The second and third plugin looks to be a lot better than the horse armor (one of them is a new quest, and the other is a pretty neat sounding wizard's tower). Don't forget that it also costs them money to make the plugins (its not like it magically appears), so there is a certain amount of sells that would be a break even point (though for the horse armor I doubt its too high).

Theres several cheat plugins already out there, and also theres the console to change all the settings while in the game!

On the other hand theres also plugins that slow level so it takes longer to level up, and many other things to make the game harder (great if you find Oblivion to be too easy).

Theres a few community made plugins out that remove the level scaling for monsters (so at any level you can find any level monster), and also ones that make it so that higher level bandits will still have more common armor and stuff, and the 'überloot' will be much rarer.

I doubt I will buy any of the plugins from obliviondownloads.com, though hopefully they will release expansion packs for Oblivion (like they did for Morrowind) and I already expect to be buying all of them this time around (unfortunately I had bought the xbox version of Morrowind so I couldn't get any of the expansion packs without completely rebuying the game, I didn't make that mistake again with Oblivion).
