I agree fully here, it just seems stupid in my view.
I seem to keep comparing this to a thing like Walls patenting the IDEA of ice cream, and Hagen das then going and making lovely ice cream, much better than Wall's. In my view, hagen das have the better product, they should not be penalised. It is consumers which decide who gets rich, not bloody patents - which seems to be the craze now.
If you dont have a background in 2D and 3D graphics, then, as he said - it is pretty hard to explain:)
I am not 100% sure on this but I believe it is because extruded objects are defined by a 2D line and have a 3D component, but if you are working in a 2.5D environment, where do you get the 3D component? I guess the workaround for this is to have the ends defined in a semi 3D way, so if you cannot see any ends, the 3D component is borked, and so it renders wierd.
8:07 a.m. - Discovery's wings leveling as it approaches the landing site. Now that the orbiter has gone subsonic, Commander Eileen Collins has assumed control. She'll fly Discovery on a 194-degree right overhead turn to align with runway 22.
A great point, hopefully a generous portion of the investment the military gets each year currently can go into space projects, weaponry or otherwise - it's money needed in this sector of research.
Hardly, I got my hands on one of these really cheap HP inkjets, it was around £29 about 2 years ago - it is great for printing that pdf that I can't be bothered reading on the monitor. Simetimes you just like a hard copy and this cheap thing gives me it.
New cartridges I hear you say? £4 for one of these refill kits that go on for years, sure the quality is not as good as the genuine ones, but I am reading this once and throwing it in the recycle bin. I am still on kit no 1 and going strong. And if you do it right, it is _not_ messy:)
As many people are saying, there is no point in advancing encryption standards if the average end user will not use it.
On many sites, you sign up, and get given a random password. How hard would it be for manufacturers to ship AP's with a WPA enabled with a random password/key which is printed on the back of the user manual? (this is a genuine question) XP asks for a password when u try to connect to it automatically, and if you are using linux etc then you know know what the deal is anyway.
because we're talking about poor windows LUA?
christ, you should of seen that coming.
from punkbuster site:
Why does PunkBuster now require players to run the game as an administrator under WinXP/2K?
Because some cheats/hacks cannot be detected otherwise.
punkbuster anti-cheat software (Quake3, battlefield2, loads more) is what needs the admin account in these games, and for good reason - cheat detection is so hard these days they need direct low level access to areas on the os and driver layer, unavailable on lower accounts, afaik.
Ok, I would rather pay £500 for a decent enough computer that can be used for anything, and pay £25 per top tier game title, than pay £300 for a box that plays dvds and games on my crappy 21" tv, and pay upwards of £40 per top tier title. It quickly makes sence that the cheaper option is actually the computer.
For multi player action, on the same box (2 player games etc - not online gaming) a console wins hands down, however.
How about these projection keyboards? The ones that project the keyboard to a dry, flat surface and then sensors detect which is pressed?
I'm sure I have seen these for the palm handhelds, anyone know if they are actually any good?
if you had bothered to open your eyes before showing your stupidity you would see that neowin is actually a very popular site for windows info, and has infact won awards for its popularity.
even if this is false (as _they_ say, if it is out, its deffo not the full thing) neowin will always be the place to be for windows info.
maybe you should do your homework before making youself look like such a twat. Get your finger out your arse and post some constructive comments.
Made big?
They are the reason I keep loosing my mobile phone and mp3 player, everything is made smaller there!
With japans very remote regions this will be great.
Also this could be very good in emergencies - as it could be used to re-route the phone network.

An odd view, but somone must agree with me!

A problem I see with that is postage, books are considerably larger and heavier == expensive.
Also, books get damaged far quicker than dvd's. I dont think it is a real option for them.
Whilst not exactly what you're after, Amazon UK give a 10% discount on DVD purchases if you are a rental subscriber.
bleh, gotta love the delay in pages updating.

I call your bullshit, read the punkbuster faq before trolling.

What has a server got to do with a gaming rig? Read up before you post, please.
