One would imagine they were trying to convey the fact it wasn't done with a CNC machine, in which case, the feat of making it only 2mm thick wouldn't be quite so amazing.
Clearly the RIAA got the government to make copying illegal, so that they could claim downloading music does reduce the amount of music on the net, and therefore really is stealing!
I can't think of any other rational explanation of why Star Trek computers never have copies or back ups, anyway.
Can't find a web reference - I got passed it by word of IRC. Note that units are British imperial . Name removed to protect the innocent:):
* I took the recipe from the Saga of "Odin and the mead of inspiration" * took me two years to work out * this is the party in a month version * 3 or 4 lbs of honey, cheap stuff will do as long as its pure * a champagne yeast * scrape the honey out of the jar into a plastic measuring jug, fill the jar with just off boiling water to dissolve the remaing honey, pour this into the jug and stir with a fork till its all dissolved, add 2 jars of cold water * pour into a sterilised demijohn * repeat until the demijohn is 3/4 full * if the honey/water mix is bloodheat or less, tip in the champagne yeast, fit airlock * exactly one lunar month later you have a gallon of mead at 12% alcohol * replace whatever you drink with honey/water in the same proportions of 1 honey to 3 of water * it keeps going for years with maybe just a few grains of cracked wheat as nutrient for the yeast * too sweet - wait a week, too strong - add more honey * drink a couple of pints a week - just keep it turning over, otherwise it gets too strong to be nice
There is a recipe out there for never ending "party" mead - you can tap two pints from a demijohn a week, refill with water, honey and occasionally cracked wheat now and then, and it'll go on forever. It's admittedly a bit cloudy, and the strength and flavour varies from week to week, but it's good stuff.
Unless I'm mistaken, you also get the option of underpinning your Applescript and GUIs with CoreData, giving you an easy way to use proper SQL tables and queries.
I'd say you don't have very much experience through your assumption that they're expressing themselves for your pleasure through their outward appearance.
My modifications are solely done for me, nobody else. It's my body, I have to live in it from now until death. If something makes life that bit more enjoyable then I'm sure as hell going to have it done.
No, it's not that slow, but then it rarely ever statically links.
Apps on OS X are in fact a directory full of executables, libraries and resource data. When looking for a dynamic library, the first place it will look is inside the application directory. Hence, applications can overcome version hell if need be simply by embedding the right version of the library. This is not, however, the same as static linking, and it's also not mandatory - OS X still uses dynamic libraries.
A good thing too, since you'll be using a hell of a lot of it for swapping the 50 copies of all the standard libraries you've got resident simultaneously, now that the system can't reference count dyanmic libraries for paging.
Because pressing the tiny eject button that's probably not even labelled on the drive is so much easier than pressing the stonking huge eject button at the top right of the keyboard. *sigh*
As a European, I'd just like to point out the canal out my window is older than your country, and I hardly think you can considered your checks and balances tried and tested.
Arithmetic is merely a tool for solving mathematical problems - who cares if the numerical grunt work is done by hand or by machine, just as long as one can do the mathematics?
You do realise the feminist movement is merely in favour of equality of the sexes, rather than superiority of either faction, right?
"Things have changed, today the question for parents is: It's 10am, do you know where your children are?"
The worst technology idea since the electrified nipple-clamp is "Digital Rights Management".
:S
But that means DRM must be genius, because electrified nipple-clamps are far from a bad idea!
Drive in reverse, even for short distances.
Is it any surprise, when men assert that -> - is six inches?
Hmm - ISTR ARM9 and above are faster, clock for clock, than the XScale.
The one where the only deep voice belongs to the girl ;)
No, it screams "Hey, I'm a queen!" :D
Judging by the number of open source reimplementations listed further down the page, Dr Perona and Mr Wolf would appear to be reasonable people.
Didn't Danga get there first with LiveJournal?
:S
Wait...
You're telling me they're real people?!?!
One would imagine they were trying to convey the fact it wasn't done with a CNC machine, in which case, the feat of making it only 2mm thick wouldn't be quite so amazing.
These dupes are getting so tiresome!
This finally explains Star Trek!

Take a look at the suicide rates in that demographic some time :(
A pair of circlip pliers makes it's trivially easy,
What do you expect it to do when it can't find the chip? Install regardless?

Unfortunately in this case, the chassis is from a Vauxhaul Chevette, but with added racing stripes.
