We keep hearing about prodigies like this when they are young, but what happens to them when they get old enough to actually do something? You would think all these geniuses would have solved world hunger and world peace by now. Do they turn into average folks by the time they are 25? Drugs and hanging out with loser friends are major forces that loom in this child's future.
Need some info here. How is marijuana defined by current drug laws? Is it a plant of a certain species? A certain drug described by chicken wire? If there are 80 varieties of pot plants, do they all have to be individually made illegal?
Not someone you would want as a doctor for sure. What an arrogant, self-important jerk. But what do I know; he's much richer than I am, so he must be right.
Please don't let my wife see units like kW/h and gigawatts per hour. We once got in a big argument about this while I was using a Kill-a-Watt power meter. A Watt is a unit of power=energy/time. 1 Watt-Sec = 1 Joule. There is no kW/h. This mistake seems to happen over and over! And the W for Watt should be capitalized, and the k for kilo should be lower case. Units matter. I once wrote up a tech report that quoted some generated power as 100mW. A colleague created a patent from the report that ended up saying "100MW". It was immediately classified by the military, so I wasn't allowed to see my own invention. Sigh.
Apparently browsers cannot handle the Greek mu for micron (maybe they can!). Anyway, isn't micron a deprecated unit? Nanometers nm are in, microns are out.
I wear a Rado Diastar. Sapphire crystal, tungsten carbide case, stainless band. Self-winding so no battery (it's a miracle of body-harvested energy!). Dunked in the ocean, dropped on a tile floor, crashed into glass doorknobs and still works. Looks great and I can wear it while fixing the car. Being a EE, I would have some electronic gadget, but they always fail in some way - switches don't work, finish wears off, etc. Unless there is a Panasonic ToughWatch, electronic stuff is too fragile.
And polystyrene capacitors and solid silver speaker wires and wood-encased iron laminations placed on the power supply transformer and aluminum pyramids to hold up the speakers and...
Remember when you were supposed to pay for your TV programming in order to avoid having ads at all? Why suffer through those annoying over-the-air commercials when you could pay for cable and ditch the ads. Now you are supposed to pay for TV AND be forced to watch ads!
This story is not yet getting any "traction". I live in Rochester and worked at Kodak for 26 years. Of course, if it shows up on 60 Minutes all is lost.
1) Building a high-tech gadget means it will be obsolete before it is half done. This is not like building a cathedral.
2) No one has a trillion dollars to spend on this.
I still have my Heathkit MM1 VOM and it still works. I built an AR-series stereo tuner/amplifier and an auto tachometer diagnostic meter and a dash mounted nixie tube tach. I was too chicken to get the color TV kit (expensive). One lesson I learned during the tuner construction was not to have two color blind people helping to pick out the correct resistors.
If you're a bongo-playing genius, you are either a famous communist spy physicist or Maynard G. Krebs.
You forgot to add "on the internet" and "in bed" to your rant.
Beauty and brains and FUNDING. Life is unfair.

50 points from Griffindor!!!!!

They have the only remaining corporate AOL account.

That means you could literally make a politician out of a horses ass!
Really? This is pitiful.
That's easy for you to say.

What you did is 90% of the chemistry taught in high school these days.
Once again - Generating Meeting Requests? That's certainly a good reason to ban a product. That's all I use my phone for!

Give a listen to "Aliens Ate My Buick". One of my favorites.

But 70% of American drivers are above average!

If you tax rich people, they will leave and if you tax poor people, you can't raise any money.

Because there are so many enemy countries wanting to move in on North Korea's turf and steal all their stuff.
