This reminds me of an ancient issue of MAD magazine where the aliens beam back a message saying, "If you don't stop sending us re-runs of The Gail Storm Show, we will destroy your planet!".
Wimps! Today I worked at the local Perinton Park 4th of July celebration (NY). The Fairport Lions Club runs a food concession at this event so I was grilling hots and burgers for several hours while standing out in the 95F sun. A couple of us nearly fell over from the heat. Great time!
If you are a passive rider and you get in an accident, do you get blamed and have your rates go up? or Will this mean self-driving car riders are never at fault so that no one will risk driving on their own? If someone forgets to do a software update and they crash does the person with the newer OS version win out? A field day for lawyers!
This is sort of like people getting parking tickets when they are not responsible for the infraction. If my 18+ grandchild parks my car illegally, I get the ticket even though there is no proof that I parked it. Things like this happen all the time, but I wonder how. Maybe a parking ticket is not considered a criminal offense like a moving violation??
Is it really necessary to go through all this to prevent people from stealing songs worth $.99? Surely prevention of bank robbery or sketchy investing is more important. Nearly any crime you can think of is more important! There are so many things that are screwed up and people get worked up about this? Sigh.
So stealing 1 song worth $1 is worth $155000 in damages and making a phone call over Skype is worth 15 years in prison. Maybe I'll sell drugs or kill people instead; this other stuff is just too dangerous!
QX3 and even the QX5 are ancient hardware. Both are out of production. I can run the QX3 in WIN7x64 using Windows Virtual PC, but just barely. If old hardware has no WIN7 USB driver, you are mostly out of luck unless you resort to OS emulation. $149 is a crazy price. These are cheap.
"Pardon. Impossible to be sent to Siberia."
"Pardon impossible. To be sent to Siberia."
It only works on people with heads that have rounded corners.

Nessie has never been confirmed to exist. They should instead use Gumby to disprove evolution. At least he is real.
But playing with my files? Not on your life! What if there is a tax audit? I could be in big trouble.
There are beautiful female scientists! See Neri Oxman: http://science.slashdot.org/index2.pl?fhfilter=Neri+Oxman
If you are an individual, you don't want it and if you are a company, you REALLY don't want it.
Those who have posted the cloned story about the pirated village have been sacked. Sorry. It was the mention of a "fortnight" that did it.
Yes it's Lana'i. One little apostrophe and you get all Spanish Inquisition on the poor guy!
Are you afraid if you do it wrong something bad might happen?
My gaming handle is 3BrainCells and you are one brain cell away from copyright infringement! I hope nobody heard that...

Smartphones need Intel as much as photography needs Kodak!!
The British government can use this system to keep track of what everyone other than Hawking is doing on the net!
Now they ship via screwy means - DHL to USPS to ??? and their packing sucks: hard drive thrown in a box with ineffective packing.
Make people pay for ads.
Make people watch video on a 5" screen and listen to music on crap earbuds.
Do not make it easy to block unwanted calls and spam voice messages.
Profit!!
And even THAT was offensive, but in a totally different way.

A pencil and a piece of paper are useful for criminal activity. So are food, shelter, oxygen, roads and cars. Ban everything!
Now that I've read a Slashdot article about "how to suffocate someone", I can hear the police sirens in the distance.
+1 Glad you mentioned this story. Also one of my favorites. Anyone who hasn't read this is missing out.
