So, do you visually check the lug nuts on your car everyday before you drive off? How about after leaving it unattended in an airport parking lot for a couple of days? No? Well, that's the difference between being a driver and being an oozing pile of red goo on the highway...

I think the transition for sentient being to red goo is much more motivating than the loss of a few dollars in hardware. That's just me though... YMMV

    b) unstreet-safe ultralight solar powered vehicles?
    c) hurricanes that like to pummel Florida?

I'm not sure how to implement that philosophy in a complicated system but it is something to think about.

Should our methods be limited to "Pretty please tell us what you know or we'll lock you up in better conditions than you can expect to achieve on your own?" Should we constrain our techniques to those practiced in the region? Follow the Geneva Convention rules? Make sure they get their Miranda warning and a lawyer?

If everyone played nice, none of this would be necessary, but the world is not a nice place. There are bad guys on both sides and the only thing we can do is punish those that misbehave, on both sides.

    - A 'GPS Bullet' small enough to be injected would not have any range to speak of. Atmospheric drag would stop it long before it got close to the target.

    - If you can make a 'GPS Bullet'... Why spend any time/money developing a rifle? There are lots of ready-made rifles already available.

    - If you insist on making a rifle, make it feasible. ie. not a crappy long-barrel pistol with a scope and a shoulder stock that will fold up whenever it is touched.

    - Do they really expect anyone to believe that their software runs on every operating system known to man? All the versions of Windows, all versions of MacOS, SunOS, Linux...?

    - The 'GPS Bullet' they show would appear to be ~1cm in diameter based on the wire/spool embedded in the plastic. I guarantee that the pain will be more noticable than a mosquito bite.

Jobs are flowing overseas because American workers are too expensive. As Americans become more educated and skilled, they want to be paid more for their efforts. Also, the majority of the jobs being sent overseas are manufacturing jobs where a high school diploma is nice, but not entirely necessary. These workers, many of whom have been skillfully doing the same job for 20 years, are don't have the skills to enter the high tech workforce. Besides, high tech is all about reducing the reliance on manpower to get jobs done and moving more of the workload onto technology.

Bah... there is a lot more to the economy than the tech sector, regardless of how it appears on this noble forum.
