While the potential for having windows viewing into cubes is there, it seems like security cameras already do this.
No, I think the positives for this could far outway the negatives. Just think about how great it would be to have a window view of the outside world, even though you're in the middle of the building... sure, it's something that could be done with a monitor, but this sounds like it would give it a more real effect...
... cost however would probably keep this from changing anything.
Everquest was by far the most popular mmorpg the US has ever seen... so why are they changing some of the formulas? The major thing that first drew me into the game was the different starting locations for races... it made it feel more like a world than an AIM Client with pictures...
To me, this doesn't seem to be helping the others... Anyone can sell a copy of these distros, and make a profit. Your only costs are the CD you need to burn it on. To me, this isn't a way for Lindows/Linspire to help the other distrubitions, it's another way to make a buck. It's not against the rules, but, it certainly isn't helping Mandrake or Red Hat, if anything its taking money out of their pockets.
Perl can do a lot, but nothing is more painful than having to look at a perl source code. While a program can be written semi readable, when compared to some others, like PHP or python, they typically make me want to stick very large needles in my eyes.
I remember watching something on 20/20 or a similar show about a Parrot that had the vocabulary of a 6 year old, and I found it very impressive. But it made me wonder, while some animals have been trained to recognize shapes, and perform actions based on those shapes, does anyone know if it'd be possible to train an animal to read (any type of animal besides of course, humans)
To me, I think this would be a very important thing, because some people I know define "soul" as the ability to reason. If we could get an animal to read, and comprehend, atleast a little, of what they were reading, wouldn't that infer some sort of reasoning ability?
I worked as a projectionist for a while. 99.5% of the time nothing would ever happen, you were just responsible for starting the movies, and if a problem occured, fixing it. During the last round you would at times, sit there doing nothing for three hours. So, I'd just lay down with a film cover over me, a roll of paper towels for a pillow, a 2 way radio so that someone could get ahold of me if something went wrong, and an alarm.
It's really not worth the money when selling one, but if you're a large company selling a couple hundred or more, it could certainly make up the difference.
I still use the same old line that I used before the DNC list "I do not ever, ever respond in any way to unsolisited telephone calls of any type. Please take me off your list and I hope that you have a nice day ".
I worked for a while as a telepoller (Gallup Organization) doing surveys for CNN and a bunch of other companies (Wal-Mart, Bank of America, etc) And I just want to say that you were one of my favorite people. (Except for people that did the survey of course) because I didn't want to bug people that didnt want to be bugged (but I did feel that the polls, for the most part, were important) When someone says something like "Oh I'm busy" "The person who does that isn't here right now" "Can I call you back later at your house while you're eating?" I was required to mark as a soft refusal... what this did was ensure that this person would be called atleast once more, sometimes more than once. But if someone asked me to take them off of the list, they were never called at that number again (assuming it was marked correctly), and that was a nice feeling.
Yes indeed survival of the fittest. But here's the cool thing about this. If the HIV virus doesn't mutate , it still reproduces, which is the whole point of evolution anyway, to live and reproduce. I'd assume that if this works there will be a day where it will be a unique occurence to find someone without a combination of HIV and this "virus" in their blood. HIV will no longer have a reason to kill.
I meant to put the verse up along with that, but I hit submit too quickly... here it is
Jonah 1:17 - Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
I just posted this in response to another similar comment but same thing applies
Atleast in the bible I have it says fish, it's just a common thought to link it to a whale

www.bible.com to look it up.
10 to 1 they're going to bring back pictures. 100 to 1 says that others will try and find what they've taken pictures of but it will have "mysteriously disappeared"...
Ha, actually, I was just playing off of your "or it doesn't exist" comment. =)
If firefox doesn't support it, you don't need it or it doesn't exist. Or, it's MSHTML.
What is this MSHTML you speak of?
Indeed, those 3 do have larger player values... but, to quote my original comment
most popular mmorpg the US has ever seen
All three of those do not have more people in the US, they have more people in the world.
Reading Carefully is your friend.

Maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't 2+2=10 in base four?

I loved that shift.
Personally, I can't wait until "The Real World" Meets "The Sims"
Oh my god, Becky stole Sarahs shampoo! And now she's building a wall to lock her in the bathroom until she starves to death!
Looks like their careers are over =(

Thanks for adding the nice day part too =D

Ack... heh I misread and posted a comment to something you weren't even talking about... ya... Jonah, I'm an idiot, I apologize =(

Actually, atleast in the bible I have, it says great fish, it's just assumed by most people to be a whale...
Pish, but I totally believe in Jonas and the Big Fish, so, I figure they cancel each other out.
How dare you compare the careful gathering of facts by Chick Tracts to CNN!

Oh if only I could take that comment back... apparently I can't tell the difference between pounds and dollars... wheee
Or you could get it for half that price at Think Geek
