Having just completed the process of searching for a new job, I can tell you that you often (nearly 100% of the time) can't even submit a job application without providing this information. Those fields are typically marked as required.

Personal preferences or needs. Some keyboards are better at handling multiple languages. Some are better at gesture-typing. Some are better with predictions. Some are better for one-handed use. Some people like to apply themes and colors to their keyboard. And sometimes the stock keyboards just stink. Personally, I use GBoard because I'm accustomed to the layout and the way it does gesture-typing, but I've also liked using Swype.

I can never quite tell if the people that make this argument are trolls or they're just trying to rationalize their use of BitTorrent to download stuff illegally. If you take something that's not yours and it's something that would normally require payment to acquire, then you're stealing. It's theft.

Same here. I use Windows 7 at work because it's my only option. When the Mac mini was first released, I picked one up to give it a try and soon after, my home became Windows-free. I know it's cliche to say it "just works," and it's also one of the points that gets repeatedly made fun of, but that's been exactly my experience. I've been a Mac OS X user for almost 7 years now and I don't know a whole heck of a lot about it other than how to use it because I don't NEED to. It would be silly to say I've never had any problems, of course I have. But they've always been either easy to resolve with a quick Google search or they've been resolved shortly after discovery by an update from Apple. At this point, I can't ever see a time in which I'll go back to Windows.
