    Sorry about the rant. All I wanted to say was that a large corporations like Sony have a massive IT crew on trhis, and its a fucking joke that its been almost a month.     Here's the problem, while it could of happened to those companies you listed, it didn't. It happened to Sony. Sony who's stance is, our shit don't stink, we have an unhackable PS3, and we will nickel & dime you on the Station Marktet.

    Well, when the PS3 turned out hackable, Sony thru a fucking fit. A huge fucking fit. Not just the crying, bu the whole being on the ground flailing your limbs around fit. While they were having that fit, someone decided to use thier UNPATCHED, NON FIREWALLED sever for access to data. Now people hacking into companies computers to steal CC info isn't new. Which is why it's a big ass FAILING of SONY for getting owned in such a big way. We aren't talking small breach here, we are talking a huge fucking breach.

    I know i'm talking to deaf ears here, but this is sony's fault, 100%, and they deserve it for being dip shits.

    Yes, this effect me. I play(played) EQ2. Now i don't, because the server is down. And it's sonys fault for being shitheads, no one elses.

    Obviously if you weren't such a pretentious little cunt you'd realize that the problem people have is with these companies sharing information on every movement they make to whatever companies are willing to pay them the most for it, not that it's required for the phones to work (and incidentally, location based services on both Android and iOS aren't required for the cell portion of the phone to work anyway, which makes your whole argument invalid).

    Of course being a narcissist you've already dismissed me as being less intelligent than you for having a differing opinion, so I'll just lower myself down to your level and make a joke about your mother.     If the response was anonymous, how do we know that the people who responded were the same as those who DDOSed? This, in a nutshell, is the idiocy of treating Anonymous as a group of people, however loosely organized. It would be better to call them what they are in this particular instance: Sony customers who are really pissed off.

    If your DDOSing the server, wouldn't it make it a little hard to hack into that computer? How are you able to hack in the computer when it's being overwhelmed with fake requests?

    Also, Anonymous is more than a well-known public entity. Many are trolls, whiteknights, immature children, and sophisticated hackers. I know, as I'm one of them. Not just a casual 4chan lurker, I mean the Anonymous underground. I don't agree with the hackings, but just because Anonymous officially denies it does not mean their word is to be trusted, or that it wasn't a member doing it independently of the organization.

    Having played Everquest 2 for 5+ years, I think i can safely say, at least, SoE (Sony Online Entertainment) has a history of releasing updates that break other stuff in the game.

    They can be seriously damaged by this... I would love to see their ability to take credit cards revoked. That would put an end to their entire online business. Can you imagine Playstation Network if it was prepay, or paper billed only?

    Sony Online Entertainment is down also. Like Everquest 2, which I prepay for.

    So i'm not really sure what you are trying to say.

    Sony fucked up, bad. And they are going to pay, probably with a slap on a wrist, since that is how it works unfortunately.

    We are going to be charged by how much we use, instead of just flat rates for everyone.

    As in, the government is going to nickel & dime us every time we do something.

    Of course, if we look it it logically, it's fair. People that use their cars more, should pay more money for it. They are polluting more, they are using the roads more. They are using the gas supply (though they pay for it) up quicker.

    I don't drive, so this doesn't affect me. I shouldn't care, since it makes sense.

    But I do not see this sort of thing stopping. Which may not be a bad thing, but if we are going to do all this trouble ( and it will be trouble, keeping fucking track of how many miles cars go, etc), why don't we just take back most the wealth from the rich, call it a "fuck you, you have too much money, we need it tax) and just call it even?

    It's so secure, I might not even know the password i use. I like it better that way, don't have any written down passwords, don't have any "cloud" storage of a password vault, don't have an encrypted file/database of passwords i use.

    Sure, on the occasion I have to retype in passwords till I get the right one, but not that often.

    Using a program for passwords, reminds me of this little true story:

    My buddy kept all his phone numbers on his Atari 130XE, which I said, "What if you don't have any power?" His reply was, "That never happens."

    Of course, a bit later, he blew a fuse, that put the apartment without power, and guess where his landlords phone number was? Yes, on the computer.

    Anyways, i prefer the mental exercise of remembering, good practice.

    And what kind of an example is Tamagotchi in the first place? Tamagotchi wasn't a tech, it was just a particular application of an existing tech that had been around a long time, in fact by that point it was practically retro. All it did was make the little hand-held LCD games that had gone out of vogue around the release of the GameBoy briefly popular again by coming up with a novel new style of game.

    No, it didn't fail. It's still sells stuff, has something called Tamatown and other crap. google shows all this.

    Granted, the whole concept of using an iPhone in the bath is silly, IMHO, I could see very legitimate real-world use for this in the disabled community.

    My wife is a nurse on the ventilator unit at a local rehab hospital, and she tells me often of the setups people have there to use a laptop computer with head-mounted stylus units and such that don't work very well for some patients. But I could see a solution like this working wonderfully for quadriplegic or otherwise disabled people to use an iPhone or more likely an iPad.

    Hmm, i thought people could do bath things, in the bath. You know, like clean themselves, masturbate.

    Using an iphone, ipad, computer, laptop, etc, is not okay bathtime things.
