and I'll cheerfully take the mod hit if someone can answer this for me.
Is this true of UK cops?
*If police fear there might be serious violence in a particular area they can stop and search anyone in that area for up to 24 hours. In these circumstances the police do not need co have a reasonable suspicion that you are carrying a weapon or committing a crime. This very wide power can be used at raves, demonstrations etc.*
By golly, you're right. DAMN YOU SONY! *shakes fist in anger*
A friend of mine did share with me that he had athe same problem. He cranked open his PS2 and blew it out with air. Worked like a charm after that. I need to find my compressed air cans...
My venerated PS2 is getting flaky after 4 years (some games don't recognize the controller anymore, like Burnout 3). I was willing to hold off on getting a new one until the PS3 comes out, but I'm not happy to hear that months of waiting might not give me what I want after all.
*Ring ring* "Hi, Data Storage" "Yeah, I need my data back" "I need to know who you are first off all" "It's me" "Who's me?" "You know who this is hahaha" "Oh, OK, yeah hahaha"
or something like that from the burned out 3rd shift tech manning the phones that night hehe
Sorry to answer my own post, but some might find this interesting. It's buried deep on the site so you might miss it. Price tag is $160,000 US for the snoozy coffin.
What sort of problems? Like nuclear war, or more like volcanos in the Midwest? Perhaps a widespread plague? OR global warming a la Day After Tomorrow? All of the above would be really really bad...
They have a foundation that helps take care of some of the administrative costs. One of the ways they make some money back is by paid tech support as an option from a third party provider (Canonical is technically that in this case). There is also free tech support, boards, etc at no cost. Their intent is that if you have no money you should not be denied anything from them - its nice to just see people being nice in the world for a change.
Mods, SalsaDoom is correct. The parent's sig has trollaxor.com noted for Pete's sake. Read the rest of what the parent is saying and it makes sense. For the uninformed (from wikipedia):..and Trollaxor (http://trollaxor.com) specialized in bizarre creative fiction regarding various Slashdot and Free/Open Source Software personalities. SpiralX, Streetlawyer/John Saul Montoya (jsm), Signal 11, Dumb Marketing Guy (dmg), Seventy Percent, 80md and others typified the classic sense of trolling both under their well-known monikers and a bevy of pseudonyms (or "sock puppets")...
I'm not sure that they are turning evil, necessarily (no evidence to the contrary either) but they sure seem to be getting into a whole lot of areas awfully quick. Anyone wanna bet aganist me that by 2010 we'll have googlebank.com (whoops, seems like some entrepenuer got it already...)
Hurrah, I passed everything according to the tool. But did I really pass...I'm not sure I sleep any more soundly knowing that MS thinks I am secure. As Reagan used to say "trust, but verify".
Happy Scrappy!

Seen at the good Dr. Bong
I realize the source might be questionable, but maybe it's right. I remember a heck of a lot of street cameras last time I was in Jolly Olde.

I'll change one word to two words - drive space.
I'm still stuck on Skybuilt sounding too much like SkyNet for my tastes - toss the CIA in the mix and we got bigger problems than people food.
Is that a bad thing? That's what they are, after all...
Wow! Web hosting with no SLA whatsoever - just what I was shopping for today!
If you're worried about "big brother" getting information about your dogs, then yes, you are too paranoid.
He's watching it through his paid subscription first, then getting a copy via download. HBO got their money out of him already.
I hope this finds its way to sourceforge when you are happier with it. Best of luck.
If the rodents are truly technologically advanced, wouldn't they be better served by hacking the encryption rather than eating the drives?

I looked all over the site and still can't figure out how you go to the bathroom in one of these things.

You mean as opposed to a blog of doom?
*sigh - preview preview preview...*
Yeah. Now his PIN is definitely something to advertise...*waits patiently*
I'm not about to find out, but I don't get that happy "work-safe" feeling from that link...
Aw come on Mods - that was funny, cut the man some slack. Heck I'll even take a karma hit for the poor guy.
