    It's all IBM's fault. IBM aren't Dutch enough.

    Don't talk about the Dutch in this respect. The Dutch are the most frequent MS users of the world, and they (the non-geeks) are totally ignorant of the alternatives. IE still rules here. MSN has a monopoly. The only positive thing is that more and more people are switching to a Mac, although that doesn't change anything for Office and MSN.

    For aboriginals and the atlantic sealers its a tradition and way of life.

    Seals are hardly going extinct. And in fact high seal numbers might be threatening populations of less photogenic animals.

    We don't mind that seals are hunted and killed for meat and their skin for local business by people who have done this for ages. As long as it's local, then it's okay.

    Regardless, Scientology is prohibited in Germany; So I doubt they will have much of a case for the german courts.

    This is like the Streisand effect - it will only generate publicity. So thank you Scientology for making me aware of this documentary.

    The stepchild is the one that aimed the gun at herself. Seriously, even if it were a toy gun... what kind of game was she playing?

    I've seen kids point a toy gun at themselves, just because that was the easiest way to fire it, with their thumb, not their index finger.

    Do you think a three year old knows what a gun can do? Even if she has seen it being fired? No way that they realise what will happen. Plus they don't have a clue what death means.

    IE7 is almost as much of an albatross as IE6 was.

    The benefit of IE7 is that it doesn't support IE6 apps, and there are no IE7-specific apps like with IE6. So upgrading to IE8 or IE9 etc won't be such a problem.

    IE6 == web browser // Major problem
    IE6 != web browser AND IE6 == Corporate network app viewer // No problem

    Just use Firefox or Chrome + IETab. I don't get it why those big corporations don't understand this.

    My wife and I had planned on visiting Italy in the next few years. After watching the trial, we changed our minds. Italy's legal system has ... "flaws."

    You misunderstand. Those "flaws" are in fact "features" designed by the government, to support that government (or the media companies associated with it) whenever it needs them.

    meanwhile, I see a grey rectangle in firefox, and I still don't get what that signifies.

    Right-click the image, then click view image. You'll see the image full-scale, like the first image. Scaling it down 50% shouldn't make it gray.

    This is a great thing. US has no fucking business to our banking data or any other thing. The fact that US also did this secretly against a Belgian company is just outstanding and shows the level of hypocrisy going on (just like China secretly accessing Google's data anyone?!)

    I totally agree. This is another reason that we cannot trust the US anymore. Their only interest is their own interest, and everything else they do and say is hypocrisy. They sold out on all of their values. And I mean the US government, including the whole political system, but not all people living there. US business is a very bad factor in the world as well (think of banks), but the US state makes this possible.

    Many, many parts of the US are overpopulated and poor. Should we not allow vaccines, food stamps, welfare, etc in Detroit, Chicago, or LA inner-city areas for the sake of "a better future?" Its incredible the double standard we have for foreigners.

    It's not incredible. It's the reality, and it has been the reality for a long time. The US has double standards on everything that doesn't support their interest. I believe that's official foreign policy. (And I know that many people in the US don't agree with this policy, although I wonder what they're willing to give up if they really could change it.)
