If it takes 5 sports channels to pay for 1 discovery channel, then I'm in. I'll just shut off the sports channels (as I do) as well as the spanish channels, bible channels, shopping channels, and the PPV channels.
You're only getting spammed if you have to flip through the channels and every modern TV/Tuner can edit channels.
I'm not in favor of this tech but since when can one assume anothers physical identity by merely driving by? Isn't the purpose of adding a photo within the hash forcing a visual check?
I seem to remember when some MS developer was first courting the Mozilla developers a while ago saying how great their product is and that the [Moz] should use Avalon because Vista will be the bomb.
The newer ones have vastly improved contrast ratio and the Samsungs are on par with Plasma with a 10000:1 ratio. You get a bigger screen per dollar and a $200 bulb replacement is worth it over a $2000 bulb for plasma.
IMHO, it depends on your viewing environment. I've been on the fence and have always held Plasma as the king of quality but I'm not too sure anymore as I am venturing into being a consumer of one of the products. Everything that appeals to me is DLP at this point. I was really blown away when I went into the few big box stores to compare picture quality and saw that the newest Samsung DLPs looked as good as Plasma.
I say it every single time some crap like this comes up; even the latest when they announced that they're stopping Virtual PC for the Mac on Intel, it's because Microsoft coders can't even code "Hello World!" if it's not point and click unless they bought the source from another company.
Remember, Microsoft bought the company that actually wrote Virtual PC from scratch. All they've done is put their sticker on it and now they actually have to tinker with it to make it 'work' and they don't have the skill to do it.
I am really unaware of any 'support' issues that Firefox has. Notepad works and works well. Wordpad works almost as good. Firefox works way better than IE and I've never had an issue with notepad or Firefox.
It's really no different then the hordes of people that stuck with Netscape 4.x for quite a while. IE is just the latest crappiest browser that isn't up to today's standards and developers hate spending the time to 'tweak' or downgrade.
I'm the opposite. I pay $75 a month for 2 landlines, 1 business and 1 personal. I get no solicitations on the personal line and few solicitations on the business line and if the call isn't business related, they're promptly disconnected. I paid $80 a month for (at the time) the only family plan a cell carrier had for 4 years (VoiceStream that became T-mobile).
I cancelled my mobile after I realized that after 4 years, I paid out $4000 and only used $2000 worth of service - and most of that was just to burn minutes. Where I live, there is only 1 provider that has a tower so I'm stuck with that provider. I'm always at home so people can always get me and If I go into town, I carry my mobile. I pay $25 every three months to use it and never go over minutes.
I was a teenager in that era and the reason Beta pissed me off was because of the Beta I/II/III and the tape lengths.
First off, if you had a Beta I/II player, you couldn't play Beta III tapes. Then, on the Beta machines I had access to, you had to physically switch to Beta I or Beta II to whatever tape you were going to watch, not a biggie but annoying. The tape lengths were also confusing as L-750 didn't translate easily to parents as how many shows you can record on it as VHS did with the 2/4/6 HR tapes.
On the VHS machines I had access to, they could play any SP/LP/EP recorded media as that setting only affected recording.
Back in '81, Star Wars was on Beta and was $80 to buy or $12 to rent for 2 nights. Back then, at least where I lived, you could only buy them at the appliance stores that sold the players.
Blank VHS tapes were cheaper as well as the players. I remember paying $550 for my first VHS player that had 13 presets for analog tuning and a wireless remote. The remote for my Beta was wired and only paused, played, and stopped.
It actually started in the 90's

The team that redid ST:TMP for DVD did the above clip and the 2003 clip

I'd like to see subtle redone screens that litter the bridge.

Shhhhh. You're making too much sense. Don't you know how many people have deformed babies from eating seedless oranges and seedless grapes?
How does one get to 'surge'?
I type itunes.com in my browser, I get the Apple iTunes store.
I type surge.com, I get Coca Cola.
At this point, I've lost interest in 'Surge'.
Microsoft wants the living room. MS will be their[content providers] bitch to attain that position.
You must be talking about this http://mozillanews.org/?article=1837003d295cdddb31 a353594e95bce1

As we all now that car rental companies have used GPS to fine renters of speeding.

This happened in Hawaii as well as I was down there in 2001 and had to acknowledge that I would get fined if I sped.

I have a CRT RP 43" and it runs at 230 watts.
Neighbor down the street has a 50" DLP and it runs 235watts.
When you work at home and have children, your TV is on longer than 4 hours a day.
I think DLP is the unsung hero.

Tiger is awesome, those new feature all-in-all are pretty minor improvements.
If you're coming from Tiger. Those of us coming from Panther or Jaguar see major improvements.
Period.

They could tax legal drug sales. Legalizing drugs isn't going to stop the organized crime aspect of it.
Use American Express.

Pigs. Pigs in Duke Nukem kill.
TVs sold in the US used to contain schematics. I haven't bought any recently butI did install a DLP recently and it didn't have any schematics.
I was kinda hopin for the Total Recall effect.
Believe it or not, my father had a movie program from 2001:ASO when it came out and it discussed that in the notes.
