>The only thing that gave me giggles was teaching my creature to eat his own poop.
hehehe love it. I remember when i bought the first version of Dogz way back in about 95/96 I managed to train mine to wipe his ass on the floor on command. that was accompanied by nice sound effect.
i tried the latest Dogz last year but i could tell I was not really interested as i just turned my dog in a trembling physcopath by chasing around with the water bottle all the time. its a shame you couldn't slap the hell out of it like you could to the creature in B&W. That was a great stress reliever after a hard day, shame you couldn't upload your bosses face onto it.
well if we are going to have specific lessons on specific items of 'bad' behaviour i think 'saving global companies' would be way down the list. Can't we have some more useful lessons for the little scumbags around here. here are some suggestions:
3 12yr olds on a 50cc scooter (without helmets)going full pelt down a seculuded footpath with blind turnings near where old people live is dangerous for everybody.
a gang of 15 youths stabbing a tourist is not good form.
its not a good idea to drive your go-ped on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic when there isn't enough room for the car to get out of the way.
I am too clever to fall for your wheely bin against the door prank. especially when you try to pull it at 10pm. yeah, i always get unannounced visitors at that time of night.
if you continue to annoy people locally then the next time you have a party the police will be called in for underage drinking. its called payback.
and i could go on. I think specific lessons about protecting the profits of multinationals would be on page 3872.
Excellent, an exploit fix in double quick time.
But as Windows proves over and over again, the dumb users just don't install the patches.
the bad dooods aren't targetting these open source products yet because they are in the minority (and potentially owned by 'power users'). when/if they get market saturation like windows/ie they *will* target these OS products and becuase (l)users will still be dumb I don't think we will be in any better situation.
I mean come on the average joe is still moronic enough to give out their bank details as a security check over the phone if the 'bank' phones them up (instead of asking which department they are calling from then calling the bank on a number you know and asking for the department). so what chance has software updated got?
ask them to show you a picture of spouse and family. if-
#1: they are average looking or above and their spouse looks bloody awful (was nice once but having kids/stress/drinking beer has killed their looks) or has 6 kids who look like little shits
or
#2: they are average looking and the spouse is fantastic looking (for male candidates - the wife is a 'trophy wife')
steer clear. workaholic alert. in #1 they want to stay as far away from them as possible. in #2 they need to continue to bring home the big bucks to fund the lifestyle to keep the spouse interested.
awful to say but this is true, it took me years to understand this. find somebody with a balanced home life so they don't want to be at work 24x7
It's not ideal (99c is about 55p) but it's better pricing than expected. I for one will be signing up to use it.
I can't understand why anybody would want to support price gouging. Unless a swift and painful message is delivered to them NOW, the price will not get any cheaper. And in 20 years time we will have another investigation into why our prices are so high compared to other places which will again (like CDs) do nothing about it.
Only 15 params? Way back about 94 when I was working at MS supporting Visual C++ I took a call from some plank who was moaning that he was getting an internal compiler error.
Looked it up. The compiler was failing as there was a limit of *100* parameters. So I told him and started getting all wound up. I asked how many he was trying to pass. it was something like 120 odd. (i turned the mic off and laughed hehehe)
He asked when it would be fixed. I suggested that as this was the first call ever on this topic it would not be a high priority.
Customer goes mad and starts saying things like 'how am I supposed to get my work done now?'. I gently suggest that he could put the parameters in a struct and pass that across.
Customer went dead quiet, thanked me and quickly hung up:)
BTW if you want to know what torture is, trying having to explain how to use - extern "C" - about 3 times a day for 2 years.
yes, perfect example of the power socket one was when i was staying in a hotel in Belguim, and one US lady plugged her hairdryer in and blew the electrics on the whole floor.
I went up to fix it (the night porter was a female trainee of about 18 and had no idea about fuseboxes etc so me and another guest went up).
After we found the fusebox and restored power this lady comes out and says 'i don't know what happened i just plugged this in'. to which I had to point out even though the sockets are the same there is twice as many volts running through it.
Difficult to tell whether this is a lack of external foresight or whether we have plenty of daft brits who don't check those things out but get lucky because its the same voltage.
actually as well i think your power things are wrong isn't it 110/60 and 240/50?
crikey
i wouldn't like to wrestle that into a paterson dev tank:D
actually trawling round there shows his negs are a bit on the small size really, they go right up to 20x24"!
Just hire it for a week, its going to be far more cost effective unless you are a pro and need it all the time.
mind you they are not portable, they have to be lashed to a laptop with firewire.
If he had used photographic plates (i.e. glass covered with emulsion) then he could have saved putting a vacum pump on the thing to keep the film flat. I mean its not as if you're going to get that sized film in a roll, is it?:)
Half analogue, half digital? He's just scanning a large negative, hardly earth shattering.
Everything is sharp? well he's just stopped down the lens. thats why he needs sandbags to weigh the thing down, the exposure times will be quite long i would imagine.
The camera has some intersting features for film flatness but this is really the only innovation.
The neg size is quite puny really. At Antwerpen Photograpic Museum I saw a camera which was HUGE - as tall as me. Took something like 4 foot negative plates.
Yep i think MS bought it a long time ago and SQLServer 1 was basically all Ingress plus some extras.
Im trying to rememeber whether it *was* Ingres, MS did buy in a product it wasn't developed from scratch in house.
Actually I heard that Charlton Heston was about to become head of the National Quantum Mechanics Association.
Quantum Mechanics doesn't kill people, people kill people!

does this mean i can throw out the black rugs and paint the walls a night light colour instead of dark red? i'd pay for that...

Churchill, JFK, Napoleon, Thatcher, Leonardo, Brahms, Edison all (have) partaken in the power nap.

Maybe that's the problem with Sealab 2021 as well? NT running the reactor?

err nope. I think the psycic routine needs a little more work :)
Yeah and it will be half the price and come with a free docking station.... :)
with 640K? That is enough memory for anybody, surely :)
(sorry to anybody under 25 who probably has no idea why i said that)
you buy a clockwork panorama camera Here

like valuing every ticket in a theatre based on the price the touts are charging outside the event?
