Eve places a bid at $24.99 for Alice's share, the exchange accepts, and then Eve immediately cancels the bid order. Eve has just learned that Alice is will to sell for less than the sell order posted. Eve then continues placing bids on Alice's stock, $24.98, $24.97, $24.96, etc., each time immediately canceling the buy when the exchange accepts the bid. Eve gets down to $23.89, at which point the exchange does not accept the bid for Alice's stock. Eve has just learned that Alice is willing to sell for as little as $23.90 and all of this has happened within 10s of milliseconds.
You have no idea what you're talking about. The exchange does not issue Accepts based on other orders in the market. Furthermore, when a quote crosses an existing order the Accept and Fill are generated at the same time - it is not possible to cancel the order between those two messages.
back in the Tivoli days I got sent to a 2-day class on how to use it. It was about totally worthless.
I found out the next week that the class had cost $750, and I actually went into the CEO's office and suggested to him that next time they want me to know something, they pay me the $750 and I'd purchase and read the appropriate book. He wasn't especially amused.
From TFA: Why try to take existing code, only to duplicate it with minor changes? Unless you are starting a company around an operating system, there is really little motivation to do so, even from a financial perspective.
... and shows who's on target, and on who you probably shouldn't rely.
If you're going to make yourself sound snooty by not ending your sentence with a preposition, you should probably also use the object form of the pronoun 'who'.
That said I still miss Windows for a few applications and MOSTLY for the keyboard commands (in the OS GUI). Window Key + R + cmd = CLI. On the Mac it's click or Apple + Space + Term + Click.
Command (Apple) + Enter tells Spotlight to open the Top Hit.
That is not what "Isolated Ground" means. An isolated ground circuit is one where the grounding wire goes all the way back to the service panel grounding bar without connecting to any other receptacles.
Further, it is completely possible to run a grounded outlet on 2 wires, as long as the electrical box is metal and is itself grounded in some way (like through the conduit coming into it).
"Then how did you come up with the $10 price figure?"
"I just know it's the right amount."
"So what you are really doing is guessing. Well, my guess is the software is worth $1,000,000. Tell you what, let's split the difference. Send me a check for $500,005."
I'd like to think that the long range plan here is to make people aware of how useless Microsoft software is for people who are interested in protecting their data, thereby raising interest in real operating systems like Linux and OS X.
Too bad the versions for those platforms aren't available yet, because then the Google response could be the perfect "That's just because you're using a worthless OS. Try one of these..."

Sure, but that'll be after you let me know that they've developed enough neuroses and self-importance to think that they need to do so in the first place.
I thought that was ironic, and find it hard to believe that he meant it. Because that's exactly what's going on here IMO: Slashdot and others are treating him like he's l33t, so he thinks he is, when he did less than what I would expect it to take to "scam a password."
Also, does he not think he's going to "ruin it for the all of us?" By making such big noise out of this he's begging AOL to fix it, even though he acts like he's interested in keeping info free. It's not like putting up a website with instructions of how to bypass website blocking software really makes any sense anyway - don't you think AOL will just block newriot.com?
now you can fry yourself at 16 times the rate (and don't bother telling me that phones don't put out enough radiation to be harmful, I won't believe you.)
On a usability note, I have enough trouble getting one cell connection during the day downtown some days - I don't think I could ever get 16. Besides that, a few cars like this and pretty soon the cell network gets filled up like never before.
The best part is that Google isn't broken. Its gimmick is that it scores sites based on how many links there are to it. Thus I think what's happening is that a lot of people have links pointing to Microsoft where the link is something like "Homepage of the Devil." Notice Disney is in there too, some people don't like them very much either.
It's actually slightly better than that. All of the speed controls these days use "regenerative braking" where the force for slowing down is created by drawing current from the motor. Pretty neat little system, the harder you brake the more charging you get, but only up to a point (when the wheels lock).
Strangely enough, I tried to create it when I got the message that it wasn't recognized, and it told me that the username already exists. I wonder if they are hip?
HAHAHAHAHAHA. Right.
Hey guys, I know the quickest way back to the default world. Follow me!

Now it's a feature that the car accelerates on its own?
It's n^2/log n.
Maybe they're letting us know that it requires more precision...

Indeed.

Nice shot at MS there.

2000g is the expected angular acceleration.
etc.
Yeah too bad it's a nickel that's offered in the strip.

I think by his reasoning he was owed $499,985.00.

There have been four Batman movies, the first two were good (and done by Tim Burton, no coincidence). The last two, I agree, were a waste.

Glad not to be an AOL'er...

Didn't Lara have Desert Eagles in the game?
