    Not sure i agree. Its great that we will soon be able to buy any of the prebuilt systems without ever having to pay the microsoft tax. options currently are limited to bulding your own system or the much much smaller range of systems available without an os.

    probably not.
    They refused to support java on mobile, and lost virtually all their market share in a decade.
    refusing to support vulkan just means they get shut out of the Vr wave.

    Apple isn't dying, its dead already, just gonna take a bit longer for Goldman Sachs to unwind their positions.

    vr isnt just about gaming, in fact there is probably more "professional" in vr than games.

    I take it you havent bought a new high end graphics card recently.
    new cards can service 8k at 60fps.
    unlike cpus there been huge leaps in gpus in recent years.

    you can even run a vr headset at 8k now.

    C is a subset of C++.

    C++ is not a subset of C

    So when you write your C programs you are only using a subset of the language available to you.

    At no point is C++ compiled by a compiler that can only compile C.

    I dont think anything beats the "undefined is not a function" error message. took me years to get past the "well duh, but stating the obvious doesnt help me" reaction and realise its actually quite sensible. (javascript)

    hmm, not sure i agree with that. python can do many powerful and complex things you never could with a shell script. some heavy lifting AI and other data analytics spring to mind.

    The problem is more one of suitablity to team development and long term maintenance.

    python is awesome for short simplistic programs written by wet behind the ears kids who think they know it all. its gentle on their ego, and papers over their common mistakes and lack of knowledge. For anything serious you wouldn't trust to a kid it's the last choice.
