As far as I know, an F-16 does not carry the firepower to vaporize the several tons of steel that is a Boeing 747. That stuff is going to go down somewhere. Of course, if you can already see it, it's probably not going to specifically crash into you. So why panic?
definitely applies when it comes to something like economics. You change the severity simply by reporting its existence. Somewhat related to the Barbara Streisand effect.
It's a phyrric victory. They've sacrificed the perceived cost of Windows by selling it at rock bottom prices. And prolonged the lifespan of XP at the cost of Vista penetration. In mitigation, they impose a bunch of arbitrary restrictions on OEMs for selling XP - http://www.netbooknews.it/en/netbook-xp-ecco-i-vincoli-microsoft/ for details.
not sure who trolled that, but the parent makes a point. since the next version is out "soon", it makes more sense to pay once for an upgrade than twice. Of course we're assuming here that people can live with the XP security model for that much longer.
i'm actually thinking that i might have to use my thumbdrive on someone else's computer than my own. i think it's not very nice to go installing drivers all over other people's systems, but that's just me.
I'm waiting for a touch screen on e-paper keyboard that can reconfigure itself to whatever application you are running. But the tactile response is an issue though.
In certain scenarios it may well replace the kb and mouse, especially in the mobile market. Tablet PCs without a stylus or keyboard, interactive TVs, etc.
I blame McDonalds. Would you rather eat a quarter pounder or a hundred and thirteen point three nine eight zero nine three grammer? On the other hand, the point is moot. They don't sell quarter pounders over here.
One operates from the position of strength, the other from one of weakness. It's bullying on the world stage, simple as that. Also note, the word "Free Trade Agreement" is not really talking about free trade. It's just a name. You might not really like what eventually gets implemented.
They did something like that in Batman. The key is to put criminals on the ferrys!

Fiber to the desktop? I don't really see it happening. You might as well get a few connections up to Wireless-A access points carefully distributed.
If you are replacing, seems that you've got some money to spare. Why not go for a 10-gig rated cable instead? http://www.adckrone.com.au/adc/sitemaster/page.asp?id=78
What gets me is that the little plastic catch on top is going to break just as easily as on any other cable.
Man, they outsource everything to India.

Only 1 moron? Damn, now I wanna work there.

That's incredible. They're like a sovereign nation-state of their own, your IRS.
which are worth $30/ea now.
They must not like their root servers very much either. Where do you think all those requests go when they can't resolve? To Santa Claus?
Wow, remind me never to piss _you_ off.

This must be why there are so many movies coming out in 3D this year. That's something you can't get off a torrent.

No need to thank me...
Thirty-first March, 2009, why? Most people think they know what the next person is like, but in reality they live in a tiny tiny world.

The only thing I would have to ask is, can you get the driver to work in Windows without administrative rights?

Neither did Wile E. Coyote.
But now you can, and legally too. And you should be encouraged to take it up even.
