On top of all of that, there's something that most people don't know.
Most states don't require that you actually carry your driver's license when you're driving. Yes, you can drive just by having a license to your name. You're (usually) not required to carry it.
My HP CLJ 2550n does 600x600 dpi. My old Epson SC980 did 2880x1440 dpi.
Color laser printers aren't for photos. I'd be wary of putting photo paper through them, anyway. It'd probably deposit all sorts of sticky photo paper stuff on the drum, costing >$100 to fix/replace.
never even had to clean the nozzels and it goes through at least one round of ink every month
You hit the nail on the head, really. I've had a Stylus Color 800, then a Stylus Color 980, and both have fallen victim to the same problem. The print heads clog when it sits unused for a while. Even a week is sufficient to cause problems. After a few cleaning cycles, your ink is gone and the heads clog completely.
My solution was to do without a printer for a while (used the ones at work), then buy an HP Color LaserJet 2550n when I got the chance (read: $$$). The toner won't go bad in my lifetime, and though the refills cost $100 per color (x4 colors), they're independent and last for approximately 5000 prints, which will last me a heck of a long time. Plus, it has a network plug and a decent http-based interface.
My only gripes with this setup is that the printer likes to do a warm-up cycle every 6 hours (starting 17 minutes after you turn it on) whether you like it or not. It sits in my bedroom... That, and you can't put it on the battery side of a non-commercial-grade UPS.
Has Atari heard of Unreal Tournament 2004? Gosh, I hope they have! They published it! It's front-and-center on their site, and listed as the "Hottest Game"!
I just got my "Enhancements to your.Mac account" email, and it has something interesting near the bottom.
And you can now use aliases as email addresses either for fun or as protection when you need to provide an email address but aren't entirely comfortable with the requester. If your concerns turn out to be justified, you can then simply remove the alias and create a new one the next time you face a similar situation.
It also says "fr33 h3rb4l v14gr4!!1!two!", but I don't think they meant it. Unless they want me to test the service...;D

My god, man... I wish I had modpoints. I also wish I worked where you work.
As far as my "official" reply, I would install Win2k because I don't want MS messing around asking people questions about where they got the license. *wink, wink*
For under $200, you can get a ViewSonic NextVision N6 box that works with any VGA monitor, does HDTV stuff, has PIP with audio selection, has VGA passthru and switching, S-Video, composite, component, and supports up to 1280x1024 resolution.
If I were installing an OS for a grandmother, I'd sure as hell not be installing XP. Maybe 2000. Maybe. With any luck, I'd be guiding them through "installing" a power cord on a new iMac and telling them where to find the power button.
Uhh... I used to tweak the hell out of UT when I played it a lot.
No fog. A zoom key. A locked INI because the game would reset my 150 degree FOV to 90 all the time. Now? UT2k4 doesn't have any of these abilities. FOV is an optional command enabled on the server. Fog is required "to make your framerate better". And the FOV has an engine-enforced limit of 100 now, locked INI or not.
And the moral of this story? I still suck. I used to get about 10-20 frags in a normal CTF game, and maybe over 100 in all-out insanity on ThornsV2. Now I get 10-20 frags in a normal CTF or ONS game, and I steer clear of Thorns.:)
Some of us USA-ians sighed deeply and let out a troubled "wtf?"
Then we went back to shooting people in UT2k4, which is a thorougly good and wholesome influence on us all. Pray that your country doesn't have WMD's. I'm an expert with the lightning gun.;)
Around the office I work in, Clippy (and all his friends!) exists only in removable installer media form. Really, folks. It's dirt-fricking-simple to just do a "custom" install of Office and change the Office Shared>Office Assistant option to "Not Available".
Hell, while you're in the custom install window, save some HD space by not installing language packs and fonts for languages you don't use. And if you're really uptight about macro viruses and such, just remove VBA. It's all just an installer option away. And you don't even have to edit a config file, which is more than I can say for a stable, non-corrupt installation of (cringe)Peachtree Accounting(/cringe).
I'm betting most of them would pay promptly when they start squeaking... unlike people who think that a bogged computer system is "normal". Thank you, Microsoft!

I just checked a pile of these things here at work, and they're all 9364U's. D'oh!
and you won't even be able to turn them off
It's like a big game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.

Or did you mean someone else?
Her mouth. 3 guesses as to what part of the board it's on, and the first 2 guesses don't count.
Thanks for replying.
I was just wondering because my dad has a couple of 888 I/O's and wants to try Logic and OS X.

A question about that MacOS/ProTools setup...
What kind of Digi hardware did it have, and does that hardware work properly with MacOS X/Logic?

It has a shitty remote, though.

Not quite.

It already happened a few years ago.
MS Office for MacOS X uses a Zip disk icon.
I'd love to see some h0t du4l c0r3 br0g pr0n involving 7 of 9.

No, no, you're thinking of the American Cancer Association.
I have an old copy of Office '98... Of course, it's the Mac edition. Macs are always at least a year ahead, even with Microsoft software.
So when are they going to beef up their selection of Overclocked Remixes? That's where most of my 5-star songs come from.
