cry me a fucking river. You old RC greybeards are part of the problem. You assume all people that fly quadcopters are irresposible and lump us all in the same boat. Here's a fucking clue. Many of us build our quadcopters from scratch. Ever heard of FPV? The entire FPV world is not the same as the people who go buy a toy drone and take it out of the box and fly it. Geez smfh
With all the illegal things people are using computers to do on the internet some regulation is needed. I'm tired of the pervs and thieves and criminals on the internet. We should require anyone that uses the internet to get stamped and registered and mandate all computers to have a tracking device for the safety of people using the internet. People just want to use the internet in peace we need a way to track the hackers so lets regulate everyone’s computers. People should be licensed to use computers on the internet;.

I don't know anything about drones and i don't care about drones so lets make it cumbersome and difficult for the people that do
This mentality by the great unwashed is disturbing but carry on.
The cost of the pilot is almost a rounding error in the cost of owning and operating any flying vehicle. You have the purchase cost, maintenance, storage, inspections, insurance, fuel, financing, and more which together VASTLY outstrip the cost of the pilot. Replacing a human pilot with a computer doesn't change most of those costs much if at all.
Hmm I wonder if Boeing even thought about these costs before they decided to spend billions of dollars on research down this road. I guess it's just something an army of engineers don't think about when they are designing a new product to sell in the marketplace?? So i guess a company like Boeing that has been in the aerospace business for ever and a day now is just totally clueless about how all this works.
How much adversarial attacks have those cars been exposed to? Just because a car can safely drive down a standard road while supervised, doesn't mean it can't fail in catastrophic ways when exposed to non-standard situations. You don't want to have some jocksters paint stripes down a cliff and the cars blindly driving to their doom Wile E. Coyote style.
I wouldn't trust those cars one bit until they have been shown to be able to handle freak situations in a reasonable way.
Humans fail in catastrophic ways when exposed to non-standard and standard situations all the time. Nothing will ever be perfect. That includes self-driving cars. The question is: Do they have a significant potential to be a lot safer than human drivers? Is a self driving car more likely to:-
eat a burger while driving down the road? text? rubber-necking? weave in and out of traffic? race it's buddies on the highway? engage in road rage? speed? put on makeup? etc etc
Here here. The Russians literally got him into office so he can appoint people who want to destroy the world and look good. Just look at the rapist supreme court guy. These guys have no shame. Whats next, letting car's take off their catalitic converters so they can double their gas mileage?
Weve really gotta put a stop to this. To TRUMP and the Russians. They are literally trying to poison us with heavy metal now and all thats gonna happen is Slashdot will report on it.
Reporting is a start. Now how about you take this information, draw up some dead easy to understand flyers and go around in a red state and go knock on doors? no....facebook does not count. If you seriously want to fix this that is what has to be done. Get some people who feel the same way to help and knock on even more doors. You may convince 1-in-7 to change their vote, maybe even 1-in-5. some districts are won by as little as 3 votes. First it was the pesticide thing now it's mercury. I'm sure even people in those districts don't want their kids and or grandkids getting slowly poisoned with mercury and brain damaging pesticides.
Sounds like a similar agruement from horse and buggy traders from back in the day when self propelled buggies started growning in the marketplace. News flash...new things are expensive until they get more popular. Electric cars are not an exception. Battery production has to scale up for the price to come down. So just like anything new that's just getting established in the marketplace the rich buy the product first then the masses later when the price drops.
I couldn't find anything definitive on whether Google determines what is and what is not news and then ranks the sites accordingly. What I could find is that if a site is popular then it ranks higher than sites that are less popular. Next up... it's not Google's job to sort through and censor popular trending sites based on the content of those sites in a general way. So if everybody from Brietbart to Fox to CNN to wapo is talking about Will Smith rape then guess what?? that is going to be trending in the search at the moment. This is not bias on Google's part and I don't see how Google is supposed to determine whether Will Smith is guilty or not in order to decide whether those results should be displayed or not.
Case in point. Trump posts a fake article claiming that Google stopped promoting state of the union address after Trump got elected. This then gets trending and news sites pick it up and look into it. When they find out that Trump either lied or is woefully ignorant about something as basic as the difference between the joint-address and the SOTU address and is therefore easy to brainwash they report on this fact. This may be viewed as negative Trump news because he lied through his teeth in a deliberate attempt to spread fake news and mislead the public. Is it the news media's fault because they report on something that is definitely trending and verify and debunk it? Should they then be blamed for spreading negative news? and should google be blamed for displaying trending relevant information to the search at hand?
if you get the gun through the metal detectors how are you going to use it if you can't get the bullets through metal detectors? Do you know anything at all about how guns work?
Aftermarket ECUs are available, but the automakers made sure they aren't street legal.
They are perfectly street legal in many states. You can even pass many state emissions tests while running them. Auto makers do not have much control over that as much as they would love to. I believe they tried to block third-party repair and got slapped down with right-to-repair or something of the sort. The most they can tell me is that my warranty is void because I replaced my ECU with an aftermarket ECU that they know nothing about and I think they should certainly have the right to do that if I replace the ECU with something like Haltech/Motec/Fueltech or any of the number of options available.
I'm a gun enthusiast and a tech enthusiast among other things. I am a liberal. I'm pro separation of church and state, pro government regulation, pro choice, pro birth control, pro-union, etc, When I hear my fellow liberals say they want to put me in prison because I own a specific rifle and attachments for it that they do not like and have know real knowledge of it makes me want to vote Republican.

meanwhile in the real word real research is happening by Boeing's competitors So keep thinking it'll never happen
thats a possibility i agree.
electric motors do not produce pollution but carry on.

Please Mike at least read the summary before commenting thanks.

what about "sensor fusion" between radar, lidar, and FLIR?
That way the system can have a better picture of what's going on.

You really think they are going to see the money coming in from the telcos and say, "Hey, we can use this to reduce other taxes"?
Some do. Some don't. Look at Kansas and Sam Brownback for an example. Sure it leads to massive deficits but to your point. Yes some do reduce taxes.

Whatever happened to the compressor/air-suspension concept rather than the mag-lev concept? To me if it's mag-lev then it's not real Hyperloop.

not sure you are aware of pressures involved in getting a bullet to function properly
I couldn't find anything on such a device that allows you to get bullets through metal detectors.
if you get the gun through the metal detectors how are you going to use it if you can't get the bullets through metal detectors? Do you know anything at all about how guns work?
Are these both one in the same? I would think location sharing which is what the summary said he turned off is not the same as location history no?
Agreed. Thanks for the clarification.
