Could it be the user's router? That is, I'm running dd-wrt (Open-wrt, Tomato, or etc.). Could this tool be installed in the router firmware to provide the last mile protection? Then it is up to the user to provide the last 100 meters by ensuring their networks point to their router for DNS resolution.
But that's just it. Many companies do realize that a bit of a break is needed. If they exact a 50% reduction in quality of life from you, they may get 0.2% increase in production, but a much larger increase on quality of production. YMMV of course.
Of course, back on topic, why not just use a VM for work purposes. Having dual or triple monitor setup is no longer a difficult nor expensive prospect. Virtualbox is free, VMWare client is free, Windows VM is free.
Well, of course, it will be irrelevant to the traditional market. Most of us have barely upgraded, businesses are barely turning the corner off of WinXP, and, from what I've observed, this is marketed for the mobile arena. I could be wrong on that last point, but that is my perception.
There are still 2000+ computers at my company that are running Windows 2000. They get replaced only if they break (there is no fixing). We still haven't gotten onto Windows 7 - not all of our business critical apps and hardware are supported on Windows 7. It's a pain, but we don't want people dieing on us because we've spent millions of dollars upgrading systems when the hardware to keep sick people alive doesn't work on the latest and greatest.
For the record, the Win7 certification project will be done by early next year. However, not everyone will be receiving a new Win7 box or get their computer upgraded. (Time, effort, cost)
Likewise, when Pres. Bush was in office, all of the leftists would have fled the country or ended up on death row. I mean, they even made a movie about a GWBush assassination.
I agree. I couldn't figure Ubisoft out. They had some great games in the 90s. But seemed to putter along in the 2000s. But what you said is correct, they were trying to be EA.
Relating to the article, we're talking Dell here. Their boxes usually have a VGA or DVI port, but only one port. Go up to one of their $600+ computers and you start to get a bit of variety. Your sub-$500 computers will likely only have VGA (and only be upgradable to 4GiB RAM max).
I understand the complaint. Whenever I'm asked to upgrade to 20Mib/s or higher, I usually say, no thanks. I know my 10 Mib/s is not being fully utilized, even when I have 2 computers and a Wii streaming video and/or playing online games. Insight's bigger concern for me would likely be the 5-10Gib I'm pulling per day, hehe.
I'm also an Insight Comms customer in Louisville. I was going to come on in defense of them. But as I think about it, with their recently being acquired by a bigger provider and I having noticed suspect reduction of quality on line (for my 10Mib/s subscription)... I'll have to look into this a little more. However, what other choice do I have? Bellsouth/AT&T? DSL maxes at 6Mib/s and most people don't even get that.
Do remember that you pay for service "up to" 20Mib/s.
It really is disheartening. The Fair & Balanced channel is anything but. The others news outlets are biased left to very far left.
Candidates such as Mitt Romney, who enjoy a popularity among a core group, keep getting misrepresented by those in his same party (hint, Romney is Conservative, has a conservative record, has always voted and signed bills with conservatism in mind, his statements have always been conservative - despite quotes taken out-of-context and misrepresented. I will grant he is right of center and not fanatically right - but when you've got 2008 Rush Limbaugh saying he has all 3 legs of conservatism and 2011 Rush Limbaugh saying "He's not conservative" and it isn't Romney that has changed in 3 years... what have you got?)
Herman Cain, if falsely accused, will suffer irreparable damage to his character during the campaign season because of it and it shows the Liberal hypocrisy between their treatment of Cain and Clinton. If he is guilty, the accusers are becoming victims again as the Conservative bloviators show their hypocrisy between their treatment of Clinton and Cain.
I could go on, but I've said my peace.

Can I blame unions? Seriously, the unions will lobby the government to ensure that only union labor gets utilized. They've created a monopoly that the government must use the most expensive labor we've got, not necessarily the best labor we've got.

Heck, the Army never built and supplied the guns, Jeeps, etc that they utilized.
What other influence forced the music industry to make and keep $0.99 songs? They were trying to push individual songs up to $2.99. Jobs put his foot down on the price. It was either that, or the pirates would run loose again.
Well, you do have it a bit backwards; but, yes, Jobs did keep Pixar afloat long enough to create a great movie (Toy Story). Lassitter, et al. had founded Pixar long before, and were under the umbrella of LucasArts. LucasArts was getting tired of Pixar as it didn't fit in their model of business. If Jobs hadn't stepped in with funding, Pixar would have gone nowhere.
I don't like Steve Jobs and the way he ran his company and treated his employees/customers. Having said that, I wouldn't simplify SJobs down to a salesman. He was a great motivator. He was able to move entire industries. And Silicon Valley remained where it is as a tech giant city due, in part, to Steve Jobs and Apple. If he had been anywhere else, that anywhere else would be like Seattle, WA - which is no slouch in the tech world.
While not exactly the point I was going to make it is along the same lines...
My point was that these "small companies" are shell companies for the large corporations.
But this story is sad... The contracts don't go to those who deserve the contract, but to those that meet some demographic. Nothing like racism/sexism/agism in government.
Can you find me a video of the Constantinople or Particle Man Animaniacs clip? They get continued take down notices whenever I find the clip. Either that or the audio has been purposefully muted or changed.
I can't say I am surprised about their science answer... they write their songs with purpose and meaning. I don't necessarily disagree with them, either. But to say that religion and science are at odds is to deny that God created this world based on the science. We just keep playing catch-up in our understanding of His laws. (Obviously not all religionists or scientists agree with my viewpoint. Still there are plenty of well respected scientists who are also devout religionists. I'm just putting this out there in the hope that some will see there are not two extremes to the topic.)
Exactly what I was going to say. 100% of funds go to relief. And the relief is handed out to all people regardless of religious affiliation.

Umm, yeah. What Sloppy said up there ^^
I'm sure several 4 hour loop streams can be utilized fairly effectively.

It has yet to be made clear what he was actually trying to accomplish by calling 911 to get help with his iPhone.
Does it matter? He was drunk. He wasn't actually trying to accomplish anything.
