The ceiling is made to be walked on. But an entire catwalk system isn't feasible with the way it's designed. We have two catwalks for the wash lights, but thats different.

The ceiling is safe to walk on, just a little nerve racking when you hear it creak once you get on it, but once you start walking it stops and you get your buisness done.

Because standard fluorescents aren't dimmable. I work in an auditorium and we have regularly dicussed how great it would be to have LED flood lights in the house lights. They do make dimmable fluorescents, but they are very expensive and don't have a "natrual" look that standard halogen lamps do.

And since we have to walk on a 40' high plaster ceiling that is 40 years old, the lesser trips we make to change house lights, the better it is, no matter what the cost may be.

Recently, Microsoft has been doing much more than Apple on compatibility. At least they offer products that let you run Windows under Mac OS X.

With the same kind of setup in reverse, Apple could have made a version of Mac OS X to run in Windows. Or even a version of Mac OS X that ran without Apple hardware.

True that Microsoft offers a product, but they bought it from someone that had spent all the r&d to get it working with not just Windows but other OSes for the pc. But when Microsoft aquired Virtual PC one of the first things they did was drop support for non-MS OSes. That's a real team player there. And if I remember correctly Apple did think about licensing their MacOS out to pc makers in the 80s, but nothing ever came of it.

Shouldn't you have to su root before the make install? If the readme file says that you need to install as root, then the end user will think the program is legit. If he/she doesn't even know how to install it, they probably won't even know that you need to have root privileges.

I think the build that i have it pretty much like XP is so I'm not that hurt that I can't get it to run. The nice thing is though, that it comes with a nicer partition utility than XP does. Not as good as something like Mandrake or SUSE, but still good for Windows.

does it easily allow you to copy your recorded shows to your PC too? :)

At first it probably will. Until studios start complaining about it and how it takes away from the sales of the Anna Nicole Show on dvd. It may be just me, but i feel that recording shows onto your computer is no different than recording them on vhs. We pay for cable and the channels, should we not be allowed to make a backup for our enjoyment?

But something like this has probably been debated just like downloading music. It's really a no win situation in both subjects, and for everyone invovled.
