You mean a free root kit?

Just wondering: if your native language isn't English, does the EULA still stand in your country? Otherwise it would be VERY easy to dismiss such nonsense.

  5. Colour images on New Dust Storm on Mars Viewable with Telescopes · · Score: 0

Is it just me or is Mars not so red as previously assumed? The images in TFA are more drab than orange. And NO, I'm not suggesting that plants grow on Mars.

  6. Re:FAD on Mad Penguin on Ubuntu 5.10 Preview · · Score: 0

That is because Kubuntu is 5.04 and the new Ubuntu is 5.10.

The latter also recognises my Audigy 2 immediately, but I still have to tweak settings for my dual desktop set-up.

With SuSE 9.3 you can have dual desktop but screen 0 and screen 1 get swapped after install and my second monitor was not recognised even with VESA 1024x768@60Hz while the same screen shows up nicely on *ahum* Windows XP *ahum* without a problem.

But then again, I'm a beginner at Linux.

  7. Re:Garbage on Discovery Heading Home · · Score: 0

Seems sensible to me.. attach a small disposable rocket to it, aim it at the earth and fire away..

Actually, to get an object that is in orbit to travel towards Earth you have to decrease the orbital speed. Your plan is making the orbit just more excentric. So aim it to where it's coming from (not Earth).

  10. Perpendicular recording on Hitachi Predicts 3D Hard Disks by Year's End · · Score: 0

Perendicular recording has nothing to do with storing data in the Z-axis, it is merely a method to compress data on the disk (or better, the orientation of the magnetic field on the platter). So, no depth recording in layers, just higher data density.

  11. Automatic? What the... on Three New Microsoft Bulletins · · Score: 0

What new is, is that one should use automatic update. Well MS, that is something I decide and NOT you. I want to determine if something is critical (like the char-set or the virus scanner).

So now I don't/won't/can't update and that makes the internet better for other users? Think, Redmond, Think!
